If you are from New York, Dallas, Los Angeles, you may not
have heard a lot about real estate auctions. But here in our areas they are
becoming more and more the choice method of sale for certain types of properties.
10-15 years ago if you heard of an auction you immediately
thought that it must be a foreclosure or distressed sale of some kind. That is
simply not so anymore. Real estate auctions take place on many different types
of properties:
- Single Family Homes
- Lake properties
- Upscale homes
- Unique properties
- Land
- Commercial Properties
The National Auctioneers Association reports extensive growth
for the auction industry in 2006 with a 7.1% increase over 2005 gross revenue
translating into $257.2 billion in total revenues generated. The most
significant growth was seen in residential real estate auctions which grew by
12.5% in 2006 generating $16 billion.
So when you come to our area be sure to visit a real estate auction.
Many times it is like a big community get-together. You never know who you
will meet there.
