Communities:
The Crye-Leike, Realtors Smyrna Tennessee office held its 4th Annual
Chili Cook-Off on Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2007 to benefit the Boys and Girls
Club of Smyrna and The Master’s Touch Academy. "This fundraiser is
something that we all look forward to and it allows us to come together as
an office and raise money for special community organizations," said
Smyrna agent Cindy Speer. The Chili Cook-Off is the office's main
fundraising event where agents bring in crock-pots of chili and sell them
by the bowl. This year, the office will raise money for the Boys and Girls
Club of Smyrna, who is trying to build a new building, and for the Master's
Touch Academy, a school for special needs children. A silent auction of
gift items, monetary donations and desserts for sale are also included to
help raise money for the occasion.

Arkansas Region Sales associates in the company’s North Little Rock
branch office reached out over the holidays during the month of December
in 2007 to two very different but deserving groups that can always use a
helping hand… U.S. military veterans and women in the Second Genesis
program. “Our efforts are for two very distinct groups of people,
that frequently don’t come to mind as those needing a little extra holiday
spirit this time of year,” said associate Shirley Roberts. “Our desire is
to simply help all we can and encourage our fellow associates, clients,
friends and neighbors to join us.”

purchased a raffle ticket and our sales associates who worked so hard to
sell them," said Jennifer Mansell, Managing Broker of the Cobb/Cherokee office.

West Memphis Sales associate Mark Beatty had no idea that showing up
at a sales meeting one Tuesday morning last fall would change his life.
That day has not only changed his – but it’s had a profound impact on
two of his colleagues and three people who have struggled all their lives
with reading and writing. "Last fall a coordinator for the Literacy
Council of Crittenden County spoke at our sales meeting, talking
passionately about a volunteer based program to help people read and
write," said Beatty. "I decided that day to become a volunteer tutor
which is a year long commitment to tutor one student one-on-one for
two hours each week along with; creating a lesson plan, setting goals,
submitting status reports and most importantly being passionate about
helping your student succeed.” Joining Beatty as a literacy council
volunteer is sales associates Debbie Bailey and Dianne Person, also
from the Crye-leike West Memphis branch office. To his knowledge,
they're the only real estate associates in the county who are participating
as tutors.
