Crye-Leike, Realtors released its annual cookbook, entitled,
"Sharing our Best," a Crye-Leike tradition that marks its
24th edition. Crye-Leike sales associates order and distribute
25,000 copies of the cookbook each year as gifts to their clients during
the holiday season.
"Our growth and success are a direct result of the support we've
received over the years from the people in the communities we serve,"
said Harold Crye, chief executive officer of Crye-Leike. "And, the
distribution of this cookbook is our way of saying, 'thank you, to our
customers and friends."
This 200-page cookbook features a collection of 487 taste-tested
recipes contributed from sales associates of Crye-Leike and their clients,
family and friends. Recipes are divided into seven categories:
Appetizers, Relishes & Pickles; Soups, Salads & Sauces; Meats
& Main Dishes; Vegetables; Breads, Rolls, & Pastries; Cakes,
Cookies & Desserts; and Beverages, Microwave & Miscellaneous. |

With the publication of the cookbook comes inter-office cook-offs, with
stiff competitions among co-workers competing for the coveted blue ribbons.
Crye-Leike branch offices hold annual tasting luncheons, featuring
select recipes from the newly published Crye-Leike cookbook. Local officials
and celebrities turn food critics for the day as judges, while invited
clients and friends sample the recipes. Crye-Leike sales associates hold
their breath in anticipation, while judges fill their plates with food
from each category. After thoughtfully sampling each choice, the judges
join in tedious deliberation to arrive at a unanimous decision.
Some Crye-Leike sales associates order between 200 and 1,000 cookbooks
each year, and it is a marketing strategy that has caught on in popularity
among their customers, noted Louise Jordan, a Crye-Leike sales associate
who orders 1,100 cookbooks. "My clients look forward to receiving
Crye-Leike's new cookbook edition each year," she said, "because
many collect them, people start asking me as early as September when
they will get the next one."
