Nashville, Tennessee - Giving back to the community they work in on a daily basis is important to the Realtors in all of Crye-Leike's offices throughout Nashville. Each office comes up with creative ways to fundraise and support local charities and that's exactly what Crye-Leike's Brentwood Realtors do each year during Christmas.
It's been their tradition to organize a fundraiser for Vanderbilt's Camp Hope for the last four years. They have raised thousands of dollars for kids who have suffered serious physical and emotional pain from severe burns.
"While this fundraiser is sponsored by our office, it has become one of Crye-Leike's premier events of the year," said Crye-Leike Realtor and Fundraising Captain Jack Jernigan. "It's an exciting time where our offices come together for children burn victims needing to attend Camp Hope - a life changing camp for kids who have been injured by burns. The camp is a place where these children can excel even with their physical limitations."
Crye-Leike Agents will carry on their tradition of fundraising for Camp Hope this year by hosting a Dinner and a Movie night at the Belcourt Theater in Nashville. They did a similar event the past two years and will once again show the hit movie "The Polar Express."
"With a cost of $300 dollars per camper, many of the kids could not afford the cost of the camp, so donors help provide a cost-free opportunity for them," said Jack. "Our fundraising event helps provide resources needed for the camp and every dime raised is used to provide a well-rounded camp experience for these children."
Crye-Leike Agents are selling tickets to the Dinner and a Movie at the Belcourt Theater in Nashville which will be held on Thursday, December 8th with a silent action starting at 4:30pm, a dinner at 5:30, a live auction at 6pm and "The Polar Express" movie playing at 7pm. Tickets can be purchased online at www.belcourt.org or by calling 615- 383-9140 or at the box office located at 2102 Belcourt Avenue in Nashville. Tickets for adults are $25 and tickets for children are $5.
"The event is an exciting event that has raised thousand of dollars for Camp Hope in past years," said Jack. "With artwork from the campers and professional artists, gift cards from local restaurants, handmade quilts, custom gourmet baskets, music items and more, people enjoy the competition of the silent auction as well as the bidding process of the live auction. People also enjoy the special screening of ‘The Polar Express' and the cupcakes donated by Gigi's too."
The Realtors' goal is to raise $15,000 for the camp this year and they are hoping to see lots of folks attend this event for a good time in support of the wonderful Camp Hope.
"As a volunteer at the camp since 2006, I can say the camp is a typical camp but because of the kids injuries it takes many adult volunteers and therapists to make it run smoothly," said Jack. "There as a counselor, I've seen the kids develop friendships with other children who have suffered the same types of injuries and they become happy and carefree. Anyone that goes to the camp, will see the laughter and joy that these children have just being there and know it's a worthy charity to support."

More About Vanderbilt's Camp Hope
Camp Hope, organized by Vanderbilt University Medical Center, is a cost-free camp for children, up to age 16, who have been injured by burns in the immediate region of Tennessee and surrounding states. The camp is operated solely by donations from individuals and corporations, and costs about $300 per person.
The camp is held at the Ridley 4-H Camp in Columbia, Tennessee, where it has operated for over 15 years. Medical professionals and Burn Center volunteers donate their time so that the children have a special place to connect with others who have experienced their same pain. They help create an environment where a child's healing can continue helping them with both their physical and emotional needs.
Most, if not all, of the children who attend this camp have experienced ridicule, insult, and emotional hurt and pain from their peers. This camp is a place where the children can be free from ridicule and hurt, and where they can foster healthy relationships with peers who understand and have experienced that same pain. In other words, this camp is a place where they can actually enjoy camp free of worries.
