CRS - Certified Residential Specialist

The Certified Residential Specialist (CRS) designation is a nationally recognized professional designation, the highest credential awarded to Realtors in the residential sales field.

Only 5 percent of all Realtors nationwide have earned this distinction.

The CRS program provides Realtors with the skills needed to render greater and broader services to help clients maximize profits and minimize costs in the home buying or selling transaction process. Residential salespeople who hold the CRS designation specialize in listing properties, selling and investing as well as mortgage financing and computer applications.

To earn the CRS credential, affiliates demonstrate professional expertise in the field of residential real estate, have a proven track record of real estate transactions and an advanced education in related areas with an emphasis in finance, technology and marketing.

The CRS designation is governed by the Council of Residential Specialists, a not-for-profit affiliate of the National Association of Realtors (NAR).

The National Association of Realtors is the nation's largest professional trade association, representing nearly 720,000 members involved in all aspects of the real estate industry. Currently, over 970 Realtors in Tennessee hold the CRS designation, with several thousand having taken one or more courses in the program series.
