Memphis, Tenn. - Crye-Leike, Realtors, the nation's 10th largest real estate company, has renewed its commitment of its 54 branch offices in 22 counties throughout Tennessee, Arkansas and Mississippi to participate in United Way's annual fund-raising drive, which kicks off in September nationwide.
"Crye-Leike is committed company wide to support United Way because of the broad scope of health and human service needs United Way addresses which directly impacts the communities Crye-Leike serves," says Chief Executive Officer Harold E. Crye.
Crye-Leike's Workplace Campaign will involve over 2,500 sales associates and 600 employees who will have an opportunity to donate to the local United Way agencies in their communities.
United Way is a not-for-profit organization that is committed to meeting the critical health and human service needs in the community. United Way focuses its efforts on: building a positive future for youth; caring for children and families in crisis; strengthening families; helping children with disabilities; assisting adults with disabilities; enhancing senior lifestyles; improving literacy, education and training; providing emergency and disaster relief; strengthening the non-profit community and providing information, referral and volunteer services.
"The level of United Way participation among our Crye-Leike sales associates and employees has more than doubled over the past three years," says Joyce Friedman, public relations director who heads the company's United Way initiative.
"The sale of real estate is so cyclical that it is hard for real estate agents to know from month to month what their income will be," she says. "It's so gratifying to see our sales associates giving progressively more and more each year to help fund United Way in spite of the fact that they don't receive normal weekly or monthly pay checks, but rather unpredictable commission checks when a real estate transaction is completed."
Crye-Leike has held United Way Workplace Campaigns since 1995, raising over $194,800 in contributions. Crye-Leike has regional offices in Memphis, Nashville, Chattanooga and Johnson City, Tennessee as well as in Little Rock, Arkansas.
Crye-Leike (www.crye-leike.com), a full service real estate company for 26 years, is the largest serving Tennessee and the southern region of the United States. It has a network of over 2,500 sales associates and 68 branch and franchise offices located in 36 counties throughout a six-state southern region in Tennessee, Arkansas, Mississippi, Georgia, Kentucky and Florida. Crye-Leike attained sales of $3.17 billion and 22,198 closed transaction sides corporate wide in 2002.
