Brentwood, TN. (July 24, 2017) - With Crye-Leike Real Estate Services having a personal connection to Youth Villages, it is no surprise the nation's fifth largest independently-owned residential real estate brokerage firm's 17th Annual Backpack Drive for Youth Villages was a success.

Crye-Leike's sales associates and employees of Middle Tennessee collected over 300 new backpacks, filled with required school supplies in support of Youth Villages of Middle Tennessee's annual Backpack Heroes Program.

Co-founder and chief executive officer of Crye-Leike, Harold E. Crye, holds Youth Villages' Backpack Drive near and dear to his heart. Crye's son, Chris Crye, was a personal supporter of Youth Villages, and following his untimely passing, Mr. Crye committed to Youth Villages that he would continue to support the children of Youth Villages in Chris' honor. It is because of the great generosity of the Crye-Leike family of sales associates and employees that the real estate brokerage firm is Youth Villages' single largest backpack donor.

Youth Villages ( is a private, non-profit organization dedicated to helping emotionally and behaviorally troubled children and their families live successfully through home-based counseling, therapeutic foster care, adoption services, residential treatment, community-based programs, and crisis and prevention services, all with the goal to build strong families.

"Most of the young people in our care live well below the poverty line and wouldn't have anything for back to school if it weren't for the generous donations from volunteers and companies like Crye-Leike," said Patti Bryan, development manager of Youth Villages of Middle Tennessee.

"Backpacks are essential school items that most children take for granted, she said. "Crye-Leike is giving these children the chance to feel the same thrill as other students do when having new school supplies to call their own. This gesture also shows the children that they can trust grown-ups who are willing to help and they don't even know."

This year, Youth Villages' Backpack Heroes Program will serve over 800 children in Middle Tennessee, including Clarksville, Columbia, Dickson, Cookeville, Linden and Nashville.

"By providing school supplies for these children, Crye-Leike is sending a message that they are important," said Mr. Crye. "A solid education and great schools keep our children and communities thriving and strong. We hope our small efforts help make a big difference in these children's lives."
