COLUMBIA, TN., - Crye-Leike, REALTORS associates from the company's Columbia branch office raised nearly $200 dollars for United Way recently during a friendly Putting Competition. The participating Realtors and staff called it their "United We Putt" contest, held Tuesday May 20, 2008 at Glow Golf in the Columbia Mall located at 800 south James Campbell Blvd, Suite One.
"We're so thankful for the generosity of our associates and staff and especially Glow Golf owner Suzanne Gagnuer," said Crye-Leike agent Linda Stern. "Suzanne provided free green fees which allowed us to raise more than $182 for United Way."
Agent Linda Stern chaired the event with the help of fellow Crye-Leike associates Jimmy Dugger and Cathy Goodman. A total of twelve Realtors from the Colombia office along with Managing Broker Colene Dooley and her husband Jim participated in the fundraiser. Justin Frizell from Magna Bank and Jei Kehew were also in attendance.
"This was the first time we hosted the associates at Crye-Leike who were very competitive and good sports," said Suzanne Gagnuer with Glow Golf. "We try to help out anyone who we can when they're playing for a good cause like our school or in this case United Way."
The "low score" winner of "United We Putt" was agent Jimmy Dugger. Associate Mary Beth Massey won a coin flip to break the tie for second place. Jacob Taylor, the grandson of agent Carol Harville, won most holes in one and most strokes.
Agent Linda Stern is leading Crye-Leike's efforts in Columbia for United Way. She assists buyers and sellers in and around Maury, Giles, Lawrence, Marshall and other surrounding counties. She primarily specializes in residential real estate property sales with a focus on first time buyers and investment rentals.
In addition to her volunteer work to support United Way, Stern volunteers with the South Central Tennessee Development District Public Guardianship.
"As a senior myself, volunteering with the Public Guardian program is particularly rewarding," said Stern. "The seniors I work with have been mistreated either by family members or institutional workers and they need friendship and someone they can trust. It's a very meaningful volunteer opportunity."
Stern is a member of the Middle Tennessee Association of Realtors (MTAR), Tennessee Association of Realtors (TAR) and the National Association o Realtors (NAR).
"I feel really blessed to be part of the Crye-Leike family and to have a broker who understands my needs and wants in the real estate business," said Stern. "To me the greatest joy in real estate is matching buyers and sellers to the benefit of both. I particularly like dealing with first time homebuyers and helping them through the maze that is today's real estate transaction."
