Nashville, Tenn. - Walkers and runners are invited to dash their way into the Halloween season with Crye-Leike's 5K Monster Mash Dash for United Way, a 5K run through scenic Maryland Farms on Saturday, October 30, 2004.
This charity event, organized by Crye-Leike, Realtors' Brentwood East & West branch offices, is sponsored by Jack-in-the-Box.
The 5K Monster Mash Dash for United Way race will start and finish at Crye-Leike's Brentwood East branch office, located at 5055 Maryland Way. A pre-race warm-up is planned at 7:30 a.m., conducted by Franklin Jazzercise instructor Linda Cash, with the race starting at 8 a.m.
Participants are encouraged to wear their favorite Halloween costume and will receive a free t-shirt, and a chance to win door prizes and two Titans football tickets donated by Sponsor Jack-in-the-Box.
"The course is designed to challenge runners and offer walkers and beginner runners the opportunity to gain more experience," said Debbie Ballard, co-chairperson. "And, it doesn't matter if you walk, creep or crawl your way through. Above all, the race is a great way to get everyone in the family involved in making a difference in their community by supporting United Way through this 5K run."
An awards ceremony will immediately follow the race that is geared toward the entire family, with live music, along with entertainment for the children. Awards will be presented to the male and female overall winners, and to first, second and third place finishers in the following categories: boys 12 and under; girls 12 and under; men's divisions age 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-64 and 65 and over; women's divisions age 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-64 and 65 and over.
Since becoming a partner with United Way in 1995, Crye-Leike, its sales associates and corporate staff company wide have contributed in excess of $283,000 toward supporting United Way agencies in their communities. This race is part of Crye-Leike's company wide United Way campaign initiative.
