Cleveland, TN: Crye-Leike Real Estate Services would like to congratulate Affiliate Broker Mike Domeck for receiving the companys Social Networking Professional (SNP) designation.
Crye-Leike's Social Networking Professional (SNP) program includes specialized training for effective use of social media in real estate marketing to help with growth of the associate's real estate business. It starts with managing a Facebook business page and learning advertising strategies. It also includes video marketing, online reputation management, and how to incorporate this across various other social media platforms such as Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, LinkedIn, and YouTube.
Sales associates with this designation know how to generate leads from social media, how to market their services and their listings to create improved outcomes for their clients. They have learned the tips and tricks to make this easier, so they are not spending too much time online and instead are in the field working more directly with their clients.
In addition to successfully completing the classes in the training curriculum, certified associates have also demonstrated an understanding of social media, as it pertains to their business by meeting several criteria. An SNP has successfully created a plan for his/her social media strategy, developed accounts in compliance with industry regulations, increased their followers, ran ad campaigns, and responded in a timely manner to customer requests.
"This designation is new in the field of social media marketing in real estate," said Angie Vandenbergh, Director of Web Technologies. "It is imperative that our associates know how to navigate the world of social media beyond their personal accounts. Effectively using social media for their business shows their commitment to reach their customers where they are and keep delivering the highest level of professional service."

Crye-Leike's Technology Leader Joins Broker Public Portal Board
Brentwood, Tenn. (July 24, 2017) - Gurtej Sodhi, chief information & operations officer of the Crye-Leike Group of Companies, has been named to the board of managers of Broker Public Portal, LLC.
Broker Public Portal (BPP) is the collaborative venture between real estate brokerages and real estate multiple-listings services (MLSs) nationwide to create a national consumer home search experience defined by simplicity, integrity and common sense.
Crye-Leike Group of Companies is the parent company of Crye-Leike Real Estate Services, the nation's fifth largest independent residential real estate brokerage firm.
BPP has partnered with Homesnap to offer the Homesnap application and a new online search tool that provides consumers with direct access to the most comprehensive, timely, and complete property information while adhering to fair display guidelines.
Homesnap, which also includes tools for real estate agents, is an alternative to commercial sites like Zillow, Trulia, Realtor.com, etc. Using the Homesnap app, a person can snap a photo of any home, nationwide, to find out all about it, to see interior photos of homes listed for sale, and connect with a real estate agent to see houses that are for sale, or to list their own house for sale.
Sodhi, a resident of Brentwood, Tenn., has worked at Crye-Leike in various roles since 1994. He currently has the responsibility of ensuring that all of the company's business units utilize the best systems and processes to operate in the most effective and productive manner. He has also been on the board of managers for UpstreamRE since 2016 which is an industry initiative to aggregate real estate data that is used by brokerages in running their businesses.
Sodhi is one of seven new members of the BPP's 16-member board of managers, a board which includes executives from large brokers, medium brokers, small brokers, independent managers, and multiple listing services. Also joining the BPP board of managers were executives from Ebby Halliday, The Realty Alliance, the Austin Board of REALTORS®, Lyon Real Estate, Starck Real Estate, and Keller Williams.
"Appointment to this board fits in with Crye-Leike's overall goal to be a leader in helping guide the industry to develop the right technology and consumer experience solutions that serve its sales associates and the public better, and also in supporting the right policies like 'fair display' guidelines," Sodhi said. "The board of managers is entrusted with ensuring that BPP is working in a manner that creates value for all the parties involved in the ecosystem, including the home buyers & sellers, the sales associates, brokerages, and MLS's while providing the public with a timely and accurate source for information."
BPP created the "Fair Display Guidelines" in response to the growing concerns in the real estate industry over websites and search tools that seemed to prioritize advertisers over agent-client relationships. "Since the start of my career, one of my goals has been to assist the Latino community in realizing their dreams of homeownership," said Englert.

The improvement came in a year when Hispanics also led in net household formations, adding a total net increase of 330,000 households.
The organization further states that overall homeownership rates in the U.S. are at their lowest levels in almost 50 years. Hispanics have broken from this trend due to their high workforce participation and the fervent desire to own a home.

Crye, co-founder and CEO of Crye-Leike Real Estate Services, has been named to the 2017 Swanepoel Power 200 (SP200) list, which lists the 200 most powerful leaders in the residential real estate industry. He was the only Tennessee-based real estate broker in the top 20.
Crye-Leike, a full service real estate company, is ranked the fifth largest independently-owned real estate firm in the nation.
The SP200 is produced and published annually by the Swanepoel T3 Group, a research and consulting firm.
"We invest over 600 hours of research, hold countless internal debates, perform a deep analysis of numbers and organizational charts, and sincerely reckon with what power actually means to produce the report each year," the company says of its annual ranking.
Factors that are considered go well beyond the size and financial success of the companies they lead, with leaders being evaluated based on their personal influence, tenure, office, decision-making power, the financial resources at their disposal, their company or organization's industry significance and geographic reach, and public announcements about pending changes. The result is a list considered the definitive ranking of residential real estate's top leaders.
"We aim to hold a mirror up to the industry, reflecting residential real estate back to itself by noting who wields the most power and influence, whether by position, personal power, employee count, reputation and trajectory," said Swanepoel T3 Group CEO Stefan Swanepoel in announcing the 2017 list.
Crye, who co-founded Crye-Leike in 1997 in Memphis with partner and president, Dick Leike, said the listing is a reflection of the hard work and success of the more than 3,100 independent real estate agents affiliated with Crye-Leike and the more than 800 employees who support them.
"It is an honor to be recognized as a leader by a prestigious organization in the real estate industry because it shows we are making a difference in real estate every day," Crye said.
"We didn't set out to become the biggest real estate brokerage, just to grow by providing the best real estate sale services around, to our agents and their clients. We have become an industry leader by doing the right things the right way and never forgetting that Crye-Leike succeeds when its agents succeed. We have a good structure and a good system and we have a lot of good people."

Crye-Leike's CIO Appointed to Board of UpstreamRe, the Future Google Drive of Real Estate
Memphis, Tenn. (December 19, 2016) - Crye-Leike Real Estate Services, a full-service real estate company, announces that its Chief Information & Operations Officer Gurtej Sodhi has been appointed to the board of managers of UpstreamRE, LLC, a Bellevue, Wa.-based real estate broker-owned and controlled data management company that governs Upstream, a collaborative broker initiative for the benefit of every sized broker in the real estate industry.
Upstream is a comprehensive data management project that promises to deliver a universal system for real estate listing information and distribution. In development since 2014, Upstream's functionality is being described by its peers to become the Google Drive of real estate.
Upstream is managed by a tiered board of managers as well as networks and national franchisors. Being affiliated with Crye-Leike, Sodhi's seat on the Upstream board represents large firms. Crye-Leike is ranked the nation's sixth largest residential real estate brokerage firm among the nation's top 500. In his role, Sodhi will join Upstream's 23-member board and CEO to ensure that the organization has a well-articulated, long range strategy in addition to a successful initial launch of Upstream.
"Our board of managers is one of the strongest boards of directors in the real estate industry," said Alex Lange, president and chief executive officer of UpstreamRE, LLC who confirmed Sodhi's appointment.
Gurtej will serve as a valuable member of the board with 20 years in the technology and real estate industries. He has been critical while serving on our technology workgroup as he understands the importance of technology, systems and processes imperative to our achieving maximum efficiency."
About Upstream. "More than a platform for brokerage data entry, management, storage and distribution, Upstream is the culmination of an industry groundswell to take back control of brokerage data," said Sodhi.
Brokers of every size are frustrated with how inefficiently they leverage one of their greatest assets - data. Upstream cross references a broad set of real estate data extending beyond real estate listings posted in the Multiple Listing Service (MLS). It creates a single entry point for the entire real estate industry and seeks to eliminate duplicative data entry costs. Upstream then gives brokers full control to distribute their data simply and efficiently."
Upstream will not have any consumer-facing websites. So, it will not be competing with syndication sites like Zillow and Trulia. Upstream will not be a Multiple Listing Service (MSL), or a MLS vendor. Instead, Upstream focuses on empowering brokers to manage their data as an asset.
To accelerate development, Upstream entered into a technology agreement with the National Association of Realtors (NAR) and Realtors Property Resource (RPR), the data analytics and reporting subsidiary of NAR.
Why Should Real Estate Agents Care about Upstream? Upstream will offer real estate agents, nationwide, a simplified data entry process and control over the distribution of their real estate listings. This new entry process will ensure not only that accurate listing information is distributed, but also that each agent can decide when and where to send their listings, notes Sodhi.
"Upstream will offer protection to real estate agents, brokers and consumers; it is why Crye-Leike Real Estate Services has been working with Upstream from the beginning."

RPAC, a national bipartisan grassroots-based political advocacy organization, is a voluntary political action committee of the National Association of REALTORS whose membership consists of REALTORS and affiliates interested in actively and effectively protecting the real estate industry and the dream of homeownership by participating in government affairs at the local, state and federal levels.

"RPAC is there to help shape the future of the real estate industry, and I am proud to be a longstanding supporter of these initiatives."

"Property tax burdens, lack of available financing and difficulties in short sales transactions are only a few of the issues that somewhere, every day, REALTORS confront when selling a home. RPAC allows REALTORS to make sure our concerns about these issues are heard and understood by public officials.
"Now more than ever, it is critical for Realtors across America to come together and speak with one voice about the stability a sound and dynamic real estate market brings to our communities," said Dixon. "From city hall to the state house to the U.S. Capitol, our elected officials are making decisions that have a huge impact on the bottom line of REALTORS and their customers."

He said that all those experiences gave him the background in legal and regulatory issues, technology, professional standards and the sales process which led him to real estate management.
His first management position with Crye-Leike was as branch manager of the company's Hickory Ridge office which led to becoming managing broker of its Quail Hollow office, located in Crye-Leike's headquarters building in Memphis. There, he oversaw a sales team of over 200 sales associates who generated over $400 million in sales volume.
WHY 36 YEARS WITH CRYE-LEIKE. He credits his staying power with Crye-Leike for over three decades to its Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Harold Crye, and President Dick Leike. "They both are goal driven, always looking to innovate, and stay ahead of the curve," said Brown. "They both bring unique management styles to their respective positions. I have been extremely fortunate to have been given the opportunities entrusted to me and also to have been mentored by two fine men."
The company's core values and beliefs are also other reasons why Brown has remained committed. "Integrity is at the foundation of this company," said Brown. "We believe in growth. Crye-Leike is goal driven, innovative and full service, which is exactly what 83 percent of consumers prefer. We value fairness, and we also believe that it is our responsibility as a company to give back to our industry and the communities we serve, especially the less fortunate ones."

"The town of Norcross is beautiful with its history, charm and diversity," said Chin. "Our office is conveniently located between both the city and the suburban lifestyle."
Chin is fluent in Korean and Chinese, which she feels is a benefit in managing her culturally, diversified office.
"I was born in Korea and went to school in Taiwan before coming to the United States.

Chin began dabbling in real estate in 1993 while she was a restaurant owner of Asian Diner for 20 years. She came to know the restaurant business from being around her parents.
"Restaurant business was our family business while growing up," she said. "We were all trained to be a restaurant owner, almost at birth."
And obtaining her college degree in hospitality administration from Georgia State University just made the family all the more proud, she added.
When the economy downturn started to hit in 2008, Chin and her family had to get out of the restaurant business in 2011.
"I have the personality to be in the service industry, so I decided to transition into real estate full time and joined Crye-Leike in 2012," said Chin.
And she hit the ground running. Chin qualified to be a member of Crye-Leikes Multi-Million Dollar Club in 2015, a level of distinction that exemplifies her outstanding sales performance while maintaining a strict code of ethics and professionalism.
