Crye-Leike Hosts Dinner & A Movie Fundraiser At The Belcourt Theater in Nashville
NASHVILLE, TN, - Giving back to the community they work in on a daily basis is important to the Realtors in all of Crye-Leike's offices throughout Nashville. Each office comes up with creative ways to fundraise and support local charities and that's exactly what the Realtors in Crye-Leike's Brentwood Old Hickory office do each year during Christmas.
"Only a few years ago it was difficult for our office to come together and be motivated to raise money for a local charity because we didn't have a plan in place or a special organization for agents to be inspired by, but that all changed three years ago when we began creative fundraising for the children who attend Vanderbilt's Camp Hope." said Crye-Leike Realtor and Fundraising Captain Jack Jernigan.
It's been a tradition for Crye-Leike's Brentwood Old Hickory agents to organize a fundraiser for Camp Hope for the last three years. They have raised thousands of dollars for kids who have suffered serious physical and emotional pain from severe burns.
"While this event is sponsored by our office, it has become one of Crye-Leike's premier events of the year," said Jack. "It's an exciting time where our offices come together for children burn victims needing to attend Camp Hope. Many of these children are teased and taunted by schoolmates and Camp Hope is a place where they can just be normal kids together."
Jack adds, "The camp is a typical camp but because of the kids injuries it takes many adult volunteers and therapists to make it run smoothly. As a volunteer at the camp since 2006, I thought I would make a difference in these kid's lives but they have made more of a difference in my life"
Crye-Leike Agents will carry on their tradition of fundraising for Camp Hope this year by hosting a Dinner and a Movie night at the Belcourt Theater in Nashville. They did a similar event last year and will once again show the hit movie "The Polar Express."
"Last year's event was great fun with 180 people attending the event and we raised a lot of money too," said Jack. "We raised $3,500 so more kids would be able to attend Camp Hope. This year our goal is to have at least 250 people come have dinner and watch the wonderful movie that puts you in a Christmas spirit. We also hope to raise $7,500 dollars for Camp Hope."

Company Focused On Putting People Into Homes Is Turning It?s Attention To The Homeless Again This Holiday Season
NASHVILLE, TN, - Giving back to the community they serve is always an important goal for the sales associates in Crye-Leike, REALTORS Cane Ridge Nashville office - but now they see their goal to give back is more important than ever before.
With more people struggling to make ends meet and in need of assistance, Crye-Leike's Cane Ridge Nashville agents are organizing a coat drive for the homeless.
"We're continually looking for ways to give back to the community," said Wanda Batson, Coat Drive Coordinator & Crye-Leike Nashville Agent. "We normally work with homeowners and prospective homeowners on a daily basis. In this case we felt the need to help out the homeless, so we're asking everyone in our office to get in touch with their friends and neighbors for donations of new or gently used winter coats."
Crye-Leike Agent Wanda Batson is organizing the "Crye-Leike Coats for the Homeless Campaign" for the third year in a row. Last year, the companywide coat drive collected a truck load of coats, gloves, scarves and other winter clothes for homeless men, women and children in the Nashville area.
"All the coats and winter clothing collected last year were donated to Belmont Church and handed out at the church's Christmas Dinner they provide each year to feed the homeless." said Wanda.
Again this year, Crye-Leike is challenging each agent and associate to collect coats from friends, neighbors and from their own closets to be donated to Belmont Church's annual coat drive and dinner for the homeless.
"We're excited to be supporting and joining in the Belmont Church congregation's ongoing winter coat campaign for the homeless," said Wanda. "This holiday, as home sales traditionally slow down, we are refocusing our energy and hoping to brighten the spirits of many homeless adults and children living in and around Nashville."
More About The "Crye-Leike Coats For The Homeless Campaign"

Chili event fires up Smyrna Realtors - The Daily News Journal
SMYRNA ? Realtors in Crye-Leike's Smyrna office continued their tradition of hosting a chili lunch fundraiser and cooked up $1,167 at their seventh annual chili cook-off this year.
All proceeds from the event will be donated to the "Cops and Kids for Christmas" program, which is a benefactor of the Dr. Scott Snyder's foundation. Organizers said the money raised will help provide presents for children who probably wouldn't have a Christmas without the help from others.
"Dr. Snyder has graciously participated as a judge in our chili cook-offs over the last few years," said Crye-Leike agent Debbie Michaelson in a news release. "We are very pleased with the monies we raised at our seventh annual cook-off and feel that Dr. Snyder's foundation is a very deserving recipient to receive the funds we collected this year."
Agents from the office had fun a few weeks ago dusting off their cook-books and preparing their best chili recipes in hopes of winning the honor as 'Best Chili Cook' and in hopes of helping raise lots of money for the "Cops and Kids for Christmas" program.
"For our office and agents, this is our big fundraiser for the year, and a delicious one at that," said Michaelson. "It allows the agents to come together as an office and raise money for a special community organization. We thank everyone who came out to our chili cook-off and joined our efforts in supporting Dr. Snyder's wonderful charity."

Crye-Leike Mt. Juliet Collects $5,020 For United Way
An auction was recently held at the Crye-Leike, REALTORS Mt. Juliet sales office, but the Agents were not selling property.
Instead of making competitive offers on a home, bidders were hoping to place the winning bid on one of the many delicious desserts up for auction.
Crye-Leike Agents in Mt. Juliet put business on hold Tuesday morning September 21, 2010 to host the office's Seventh Annual Martin Cummings Sweet Tooth Auction. The agents host the auction every September during the company's United Way Campaign to raise money for local charities supported by United Way of Wilson County.
This year's Sweet Tooth Auction brought in $5,020 to benefit local charities. A hearty breakfast was served to everyone who attended and was followed by the auctioning of many homemade cakes, cookies, pies and other sweet treats and items.
"Thanks to all the support from Kathy Tomlinson from Realty Title and Dwayne Hampton from Magna Bank for the wonderful breakfast and thanks to the donations of auction items from local businesses, the public, agents from Crye-Leike offices and other Real Estate companies, and thanks to the auctioneers, the auction this year was a huge success!" said Crye-Leike Affiliate Broker Joann Pucciarelli. "A special thanks goes to our fabulous Mt. Juliet office because without all their support from baking, inviting others, bidding and being such a wonderful group of people this auction would not be possible."
The Sweet Tooth Auction is named in memory of the late Martin Cummings who was the first Managing Broker of the Crye-Leike, REALTORS Mt. Juliet office.
"Martin always stressed to us to give back to the community and that is what our office has always tried to do," said Joann. "We were very fortunate to have Martin's wife Camilla Cummings to join us in the fun at the auction this year. I know Martin would be very proud of the way the auction turned out and thrilled on how successful it grows every year."
Dickson Realtors Plan Yard Sale And Bake Sale To Benefit United Way
Realtors in Crye-Leike's Dickson office are planning their 4th Annual Yard Sale and Bake Sale for United Way. All proceeds will benefit local charities supported by United Way.
"While our local agencies are many, most of our donations go to the Dickson County Help Center, the Dickson Senior Citizen Center and the Meals on Wheels Program," said Beth Ahlheit, Crye-Leike Dickson Affiliate Broker and Office Co-Captain for United Way. "We have already had some donations, but we're still in need of more items."
Agents at Crye-Leike Dickson are encouraging folks in the community to de-clutter their apartments, homes and offices and donate unwanted new and slightly warn items to the company's United Way Yard Sale. Donations of clothing, toys, furniture, books, and other household items can be dropped off at Crye-Leike's Dickson office located at 1904 Highway 46 South.
The Realtors will be accepting donations until Friday, September 17th. The yard sale and bake sale will be in the front parking lot of the office on Saturday, September 18th from 8am to 4pm.
"Through our yard sales the past few years, Crye-Leike Dickson has raised thousands of dollars for United Way." said Cindy Smith, Crye-Leike Dickson Affiliate Broker and Office Co-Captain for United Way. "We hope to see many people stop by our yard sale to find a good bargain and join our efforts in supporting United Way."

Bella Vista Realtors Invite The Public To Give The Gift Of Life
BELLA VISTA, AR., - Realtors work with buyers and sellers in the community everyday - and it's no surprise that many agents take time out of their schedules on several occasions during the year to give back to those same communities.
Crye-Leike Realtors in Bella Vista are planning to give back to their community by hosting a blood drive for the American Red Cross. The Realtors want to give the gift of life in memory of their friend and Managing Broker Dave Mishler who recently passed away.
"I know Dave would be very proud," said Crye-Leike Office Administrator Kathryn Weldon. "Every since he became the Managing Broker of our office, he always wanted to do some kind of event here to give back to the community, but he just ran out of time."
Crye-Leike's "Dave Mishler Memorial Blood Drive" will be held on Friday, September 24th at the Bella Vista sales office located at 3463 Bella Vista Way.
The Realtors are planning to make this drive an annual event and are hoping many people in the community will join their efforts in giving the gift of life.
"We invite the public to stop by our office and donate blood," said Weldon. "The American Red Cross is in constant need of blood donations. Each pint of blood donated can save as many as three lives and also goes to help the Red Cross maintain a ready supply of blood for emergencies."
Appointments are now being accepted for the "Crye-Leike Dave Mishler Memorial Blood Drive." The Realtors encourage the public to schedule an appointment by visiting www.redcrossblood.org and enter sponsor code CLRBV.
"An American Red Cross Blood Mobile will be parked outside of our office with a full nursing staff ready to take good care of all our donors on September 24th," said Weldon. "This will be a convenient way for our agents to donate blood while honoring Dave's Memory, and we also hope to see many members of the community stop by our office to help us make this first blood drive a great success."
Weldon adds, "The Red Cross has been advising the public that the parameters for donating blood have changed, so if you were ineligible in the past, please check with the Red Cross. Some medications that may have excluded you from donating will no longer make you ineligible."

The Needs Of Others Inspires Rutherford County Realtor
SMYRNA, TN., - It's a well known fact that when we work together toward a goal as a team we can accomplish much more than going at a task individually. Smyrna Realtor Heather Karl knows that from both her experience in the business of home sales and community service.
Heather is taking the ?team approach' to heart during the month of September as the United Way Campaign Team Captain at the Crye-Leike Smyrna sales center.
"Since the first year I volunteered as a United Way Team Captain I have been consistently amazed by how far the agency reached and what services it offers right here in our community," said Heather. "I had the opportunity to visit some of the community centers United Way donations support and learned that children in those centers sometimes have their only daily nutrition provided in one meal or snack during their stay. The need is very real."
Heather carries on a long-standing relationship and tradition that Crye-Leike associates have supporting United Way during its annual September giving campaign. Since 2000 the company has made workplace giving fun for everyone - raising donations that support and sustain agencies that provide vital services to those in need.
"Bringing donations to the Smyrna/LaVergne Food Bank you see that there really are people who depend on the assistance," said Heather. "The partner agencies and initiatives of United Way of Rutherford and Cannon counties cover everything from Alive Hospice, Salvation Army, domestic violence programs, youth services, Boys & Girls Club, Girl Scouts, Tennessee Poison Center, Legal Aid and more."
In 2007, Heather helped organize and promote a Chili Cook-Off fundraiser at the Smyrna office to benefit United Way and the Masters Touch agency.
"Giving even the smallest contribution makes it possible for so many agencies to exist and help those who need it most," said Heather. "Many people right here in our community have probably needed or used these services without knowing that it's possible because of the support of the United Way."
All of the funds Crye-Leike Smyrna raises will stay in Rutherford and Cannon counties. United Way will disperse all funds collected based on a formula targeting approximately 28% for education, 22% for health, 16% for rebuilding lives and 34% for income assistance.
"It's very rewarding to be a part of the campaign again this year," said Heather. "And it's always important to give back - it all comes full circle."

Realtors Go Shopping For Back To School
BRENTWOOD, TN., - While real estate agents stay pretty busy during the final days of the summer home selling season, the Realtors of Crye-Leike are definitely in a buying mood. Agents have been hitting the stores shopping for back to school items to donate to Middle Tennessee children in the care of Youth Villages.
"This has been a wonderful tradition for us and we love it," said Kristin Pendergraft, Crye-Leike Spring Hill Managing Broker. "While the real estate market has slowed down, our agents have not when it comes to shopping for new school supplies for these children."
Now in its 10th consecutive year, Crye-Leike is part of the Youth Villages ?Backpack Heroes Campaign' - to help ensure that the emotionally and behaviorally challenged kids in the agency's care get the same start to school as every other child. Everything that's donated goes to help local children in the Middle Tennessee area.
"Most of these children live below the poverty line and can't afford new school supplies," said Harold Crye, Crye-Leike, REALTORS Cofounder and CEO. "These are kids with little or nothing at all, so getting something new goes a long way."
Crye's late son Chris was a huge supporter of Youth Villages. Chris Crye was very involved with the Middle Tennessee agency up until his tragic death ten years ago. In his memory, the agents of Crye-Leike carry on a tradition of caring for kids who deserve every opportunity to learn and succeed.
"Because of what Crye-Leike associates do, these kids get to attend school with new folders, paper, pencils and backpacks like every other kid," said Greg Schott, Youth Villages Development Manager. "It gives them the opportunity to have something brand new and shows them they can trust grown ups who are willing to help kids they don't even know."
So from late July until early August Crye-Leike Associates and Employees across the Middle Tennessee region go school supply shopping. They effectively become agents of better education.
"I know agents who all summer look forward to hitting the stores for these kids," said Crye-Leike Manager Pendergraft. "They will search high and low for that special backpack or certain kind of notebooks and pen or pencil set. It's very personal to us as we hope it is for the kids."
This year Crye-leike is helping children in the care of Youth Villages across the Middle Tennessee region. From as far west as Cookeville, south to Columbia, north to Hendersonville and west to Dickson.
"By providing school supplies for these children, we're letting them know that they are special to our community," said Harold Crye. "A solid education and great schools keep our children and communities thriving and strong, and we hope our small effort helps to make a difference in their lives."
More About Youth Villages
Youth Villages is a private nonprofit organization that serves emotionally and behaviorally troubled children and their families. Its mission is to help children and families live successfully. Most of the children in Youth Villages' care have had to be removed from their homes because of abuse and/or neglect and are in custody of the Tennessee Department of Children's Services. The organization helps these children by finding permanency for each one - either returning to his or her own home or, if not possible, finding a caring "forever" family through adoption.

Sales Associates in Crye-Leike, REALTORS Clarsksville/St. Bethlehem office woke up early on Saturday, July 10th - but their motivation wasn't to make a sale.
The Realtors inspiration to skip sleeping in that morning was a pancake breakfast fundraiser they planned and organized for United Way.
Crye-Leike Clarksville's Pancake Breakfast held at Applebee's raised $977.00 for local charities. Each year the Realtors come up with a creative way to fundraise for charities supported by United Way.
Thanks to several Crye-Leike associates including--Phil and Kathy Munden, Kimberly Newlove, Ann Marshbanks, Rita Knight, Aaron Moore, Tootie Louie, BJ Buckler, Jim Phillips, Larry Jackson, Susan Skirvin, Suzan Ping, Jennifer Emery, Glenda Gardner, and Kay Schillo-- all the pancakes got served to the breakfast guests and the fundraiser was a huge success.
The Crye-Leike Clarksville/St. Bethlehem office extends a special thanks to Applebee's for helping host the event and thanks everyone who bought a breakfast ticket to support United Way.
Williamson County Realtors Invite The Public To Join Them In Giving The Gift Of Life
BRENTWOOD, TN., - For many years the Realtors in Crye-Leike's Brentwood West Regional Headquarters office have sponsored a blood drive for the American Red Cross - and this year they will keep that tradition alive in a time when many Nashville charities need the help of businesses and the public now more than ever.
"Disasters like the unusual Nashville flooding shine light on why donating to organizations such as United Way and the Red Cross is such an important thing to do," said Crye-Leike Broker and Blood Drive Coordinator Jim Heidenway. "For these organizations, donations are vital to their survival and their ability to help those who need it most in times of terrible tragedy."
The Realtors work with buyers and sellers in the community everyday and giving back to the community by supporting charities like the American Red Cross has always been an important goal for the sales associates in Crye-Leike's Brentwood West Sales Office.
"For the past seven years we have hosted a blood drive for the Red Cross in the summer," said Crye-Leike Broker and Blood Drive Coordinator Lorie Layman. "During the summer months, the need for blood in local hospitals increases due to travel related injuries, outdoor accidents and scheduled surgeries while donations often decrease because regular donors are busy with travel and vacation plans."
Crye-Leike, REALTORS in Brentwood will host its Eighth Annual Summer Blood Drive on Wednesday, June 9th from 10:00am - 4:00pm at the Regional Headquarters Sales Plaza located at 5111 Maryland Way.
The office's goal is to have at least 80 donors because 800 pints of blood are needed each day in the Greater Nashville area. Each pint of blood donated can save as many as three lives and also goes to help the Red Cross maintain a ready supply of blood for emergencies.
"We hope lots of people will join us in giving the gift of life in a time when donations are needed most," said Heidenway. "We encourage the public to join our efforts in supporting the Red Cross by calling our office to schedule an appointment time to give blood. This will ensure no one will have to wait in line."
More About The Crye-Leike Brentwood Blood Drive
On Wednesday, June 9th an American Red Cross Blood Mobile will be parked outside of Crye-Leike's Brentwood West sales office - located at 5111 Maryland Way - with a full nursing staff standing by to take good care of all the donors.

Realtors Host Second Annual Rummage Sale For Second Harvest & United Way
Local organizations including Second Harvest Food Bank and United Way need the help of businesses and the public now more than ever.
Disasters like the unusual Nashville flooding shine light on why donating to organizations such as United Way and Second Harvest is such an important thing to do. For these organizations, donations are vital to their survival and their ability to help those who need it most in times of terrible tragedy.
For the second year in a row, Crye-Leike, REALTORS Starwood sales office is hosting a rummage sale to benefit Second Harvest Food Bank. "Our office hopes to have the public's help with creating a larger rummage sale this June."

"Our office is accepting rummage sale donations of furniture, clothing, household items, appliances, lawn furniture and much more," said Batson. "We are also collecting monetary and non-perishable food items for Second Harvest and United Way."

Realtors Taking On The Battle Against Cancer
JACKSON, TN., - Realtors know the importance of teamwork. Each transaction demands the involvement and cooperation of dozens of people to have a successful property sale or purchase. That work experience and a genuine spirit to give back to the community has motivated a group of local Realtors to launch their 1st annual 5K Run/Walk to benefit the American Cancer Society.
"We've formed a task force in our office and call ourselves the "Crye-Leike Cancer Crushers" which came pretty naturally to most of us," said Neill Bartlett, a Realtor with Crye-Leike Blue Skies Real Estate. "Many of us, if not all of us have been affected by this dreaded disease and in the past year I lost both my father and uncle to cancer."
Bartlett's desire, to turn his personal experience into something positive, led him and others at Blue Skies to get behind the Run/Walk. All the money they raise will go towards the American Cancer Society's annual ?Relay For Life' fundraiser.
"This event makes perfect sense since for many years the Central West Tennessee Association of Realtors (CWTAR) has been a long-standing partner and fundraiser for the Relay For Life which funds cancer research and support services for those battling the disease and their families," said Bartlett. "If one person can make a difference then there's no telling what an entire office of Realtors can do."
Bartlett believes in the power of fundraisers to offer both a sense of hope for those waging the fight to beat cancer and to generate money to pay for the often expensive treatments and services.
"A very good client of our office and a personal friend of mine was diagnosed with colon cancer last year," said Bartlett. "After many fundraisers and much personal strength displayed by him he is now cancer free. There is always hope."
During the course of any given year the Realtors of Crye-Leike Blue Skies support many causes as a way of giving back to the community that supports their livelihoods. This time, the motivation seems far more personal to them and to so many in the greater Jackson community.
"As Realtors we are not just here to be a service to our clients," said Bartlett. " We are here to be of service to our communities and our office is totally behind ?Crushing Cancer' at every opportunity we get."
Blue Skies agents have already secured their first corporate donation for the upcoming event. TruGreen lawn care franchise owner Michael Cook is committing a gift of $1,000 toward the ?fighting cancer' cause.
"Michael is a valued client and friend of Blue Skies," said Bartlett. "We appreciate both his support and very generous donation to get behind the fight against cancer and give back to the community."

Wilson County Crye-Leike Realtors Give The Gift Of Life
MT. JULIET, TN., - Giving back to the community they serve has always been a priority for the sales associates in Crye-Leike, REALTORS Mt. Juliet and Lebanon branch offices.
Both of the offices recently held a blood drive for the American Red Cross.
On Wednesday, March 3, Crye-Leike's Lebanon agents invited a blood mobile to their office encouraging the public to join them in giving the gift of life.
"With all of the tragic events in the world currently, God just laid it on my heart to have a Blood Drive," said Tracy Bowman, Crye-Leike Lebanon Realtor and Blood Drive Coordinator. "I felt this was something that we could do to really help the community and possibly save some lives."
Crye-Leike's Lebanon Blood Drive brought in 16 donors and collected 16 pints of blood with a chance to save as many as 48 lives.
"The Red Cross folks were great to work with from start to finish, and we hope to host another blood drive in the future," said Bowman.
Only one day later on Thursday, March 4, Crye-Leike's Mt. Juliet agents held their annual spring blood drive.
Each fall and spring the Realtors invite the American Red Cross Blood Mobile to park outside of their sales office with hopes of increasing the number of donors they had at the previous blood drive.
"Our office staff and agents work very hard to make it easy for the community to give blood by hosting a drive twice a year," said Betty Robinson, Crye-Leike Mt. Juliet Realtor and Blood Drive Coordinator. "I am always amazed when I come into the office the day after a blood drive and the agents and staff ask me ?how many donors did we get.' That makes me know our office really cares!!"
Crye-Leike Mt. Juliet's Spring 2010 blood drive brought in 27 pints of blood with each pint able to save as many as three lives and help the American Red Cross maintain a ready blood supply for emergencies.
"We had a terrific blood drive and a fantastic day for it," said Robinson. "The days prior to the blood drive were cold and gloomy days but the day of the drive the sun came out and the temperature climbed to 50 degrees bringing lots of folks out to give blood!"
As a way of thanking all the donors, the Realtors and office staff always pool their monies, time and talent together to provide a nice lunch for everyone who donates blood - and this spring's blood drive was no exception.
"We make it easy for the public to stop in and donate during a busy day by rewarding them with a fresh and hot meal for lunch," said Robinson. "This time we served up our favorite comfort foods including beef stew, cabbage stew, white chili, chicken and dumplings, cornbread cakes, and several dessert cakes."
Crye-Leike's Mt. Juliet Realtors are already looking forward to their next blood drive they plan to host in the fall of 2010.
"I was thrilled to have 27 pints of blood donated to start the year off with," said Robinson. "If we get 43 in the fall we will have a record 70 pints donated for this year. That would be the most we have ever had - and that's our goal!"
Crye-Leike Realtors in Lebanon and Mt. Juliet extend a special thanks to everyone who stopped by the offices to donate blood.

Wilson County Realtors Invite The Public To Join Them In Giving The Gift Of Life

Giving back to the community has always been an important goal for the sales associates in Crye-Leike, REALTORS Mt. Juliet and Lebanon offices and they are at it again.

An American Red Cross Blood Mobile will be parked outside of each office providing a convenient way for the Realtors and the community to give the gift of life.
"We feel this is a very worthy cause for our community," said Mt. Juliet Blood Drive Coordinator and Crye-Leike Realtor Betty Robinson. "It's been my pleasure to organize the blood drives for our office the past few years. With the help of our entire office and the public who come out to donate, the blood drives we have are always a huge success."
Appointments are now being accepted for the blood drives and Realtors are encouraging the public to call the offices in advance for an appointment so they can accommodate as many donors as possible and ensure no one will have to wait in line.
"We want to encourage the public to stop by our offices and give the gift of life," said Robinson. "Each pint of blood donated can save as many as three lives and also goes to help the Red Cross maintain a ready supply of blood for emergencies. Locally, 800 pints of blood are needed each day in the Greater Nashville area."

The property management team at Crye-Leike, REALTORS in Brentwood is dedicated to assisting clients in managing their rental homes and properties on a daily basis - but the team recently took some time out of their busy schedules to assist people without a home in Nashville.

"I felt this would not only strengthen our team but also serve the homeless of Nashville," said Claybaker. "It was an incredible experience and truly a life changing day for all of us. I loved watching the office bond in a way we never have before."

Crye-Leike Manager Crunches Numbers By Day And Helps Children Day And Night
MEMPHIS, TN., - Accounting Departments in Memphis do the usual business of keeping track of revenue and expenses - cutting payroll checks and keeping an eye towards saving money along the way. The Accounting Department at Crye-Leike, REALTORS Corporate Headquarters does all of that too - and then some.
What makes the accounting team at the city's largest real estate firm special - and one Manager in particular - is a level of generosity that's become contagious.
Inside the Crye-Leike Quail Hollow office Accounting Manager Lynda Drake has gained a reputation as a ?money cruncher' determined to make the holidays brighter each year for the children in the care of Youth Villages. You could describe Drake as the Mrs. Claus of Crye-Leike.
"I would hardly consider myself a Mrs. Claus," said Drake. "It is true most everyone knows about my passion for Youth Villages and with the help of other staff here in the accounting department we spend much of our spare time - this time of year especially - accumulating gifts of all kinds with a goal of raising more money for Youth Villages than we did the year before."
The merchandise Drake gathers is the result of her ability to buy, beg and barter with a variety of local retailers and companies - getting items for pennies on the dollar or just for the asking. Over the years - she's developed long-standing and loyal relationships with many who ?fill her wish list' with everything from pen/paper sets, stuffed animals, unique pottery and toys to amazing event tickets, autographed items, and gift cards.
"A pen/paper set that might cost ten dollars or more in a retail setting - we often get for free or for pennies," said Drake. "Little by little our inventory builds, especially as we get closer to the holidays. We know our Realtors and loyal friends love supporting our cause because they know their money goes to support the children of Youth Villages."
Crye-Leike's and Drake's commitment to fundraise for Youth Villages has been going strong for more than two decades. Five years ago she and her accounting team took it up a notch by starting a Silent Auction & Raffle. The event annually generates in excess of $10-thousand dollars.
The 6th Annual Silent Auction & Raffle is slated to start on Monday, November 16th and will include more than 200 gift baskets with items donated by Amit's Hallmark, a Limited Edition 2008 Tennessee Titans Pro Bowlers Print and a 16 person Suite for the Memphis Tigers vs. S.E. Missouri game December 16th at the Fed-Ex Forum courtesy of the Commercial Appeal. There will be amazing autographed items, great ticket packages, and gifts cards galore.
"The number and level of donated items for this years auction is unbelievable," said Drake. "A lot of phone calling and a little begging sometimes comes into play - but we are so humbled by the generosity of those who have donated to our cause in the spirit of helping children. If that makes people want to call me the Crye-Leike Mrs. Claus - I'll accept that title with honor."
About The Crye-Leike Silent Auction & Raffle For Youth Villages
Auction items will be on display from Monday, November 16th thru Friday, November 20th at the Crye-Leike Corporate Headquarters located at 6525 N. Quail Hollow in Memphis. The Auction will close at 4pm on Friday the 20th and a Raffle will immediately follow. All proceeds will benefit Youth Villages.

Teamwork To Make The Dream Work - A Love For Competition And Community Inspires Local Realtors To Team-Up For A Big Ball Softball Tournament To Benefit United Way of Middle Tennessee
BRENTWOOD, TN., - There's a good chance that many of the local Realtors and friends of Realtors taking part in an early November benefit softball tournament haven't played the game in years - or perhaps never before. No one who's signed-up so far though seems too worried about his or her athletic ability - or lack there of.
"Realtors are known as savvy negotiators and sales people - and not necessarily as high performing athletes," said Terri Mason, a Crye-Leike, REALTORS agent. "I suppose perhaps some of them consider playing in the tournament as a ?cake walk' compared to the challenges this past year in buying and selling homes."
Mason along with fellow Realtor Joann Pucciarelli are the force behind a 1st ever company softball tournament to benefit United Way of Middle Tennessee. The two share the duty of Co-Chairs for the annual Crye-Leike United Way fundraising campaign. They believe a tournament will be both fun - getting agents from across the region together for the day - and has the potential to raise a lot of money for the agencies supported by United Way.
"We're asking both players and spectators to make a modest minimum donation and we're hoping folks will be extremely generous," said Pucciarelli. "We're also going to offer delicious concessions and a variety of games to raise a substantial amount of money for United Way."
Through the combination of entry fees for players and spectators along with concession and games - the slow-pitch softball players of Crye-Leike and their fans hope to hit a fundraising home run.
"I have to hand it to these agents - they're a competitive bunch by nature so I'm really not surprised they settled on a softball tournament," said Harold Crye, CEO & Cofounder of Crye-leike, REALTORS. "It will be interesting to see how well they play. If they can hit and catch a softball as good as they can sell a home - we should see some really amazing playing on the field."
More About The Big Ball Softball Tournament
The Big Ball Softball Tournament will be played on Saturday, November 7, 2009 from 10:00am - 4:00pm at Fly Park 3640 North Chapel Road in Franklin Tennessee. Each player will be charged a $10.00 entry fee and $5 dollars for spectators.
?Slow Pitch' Big Ball Softball is played with a 16-inch ?restricted flight' ball with an under-hand pitch to ensure easy play for participants of all skill levels. Easy to catch, throw and hit.
Special thanks to United Way of Williamson County representative Sonya Johnson for her support and assistance - which includes securing the use of Franklin's Fly Field through the Williamson County Department of Parks and Recreation.

MT. JULIET, TN., - Realtors work with buyers and sellers in the community everyday - and it's no surprise that many agents take time out of their schedules on several occasions during the year to give back to their communities.
Giving back to the community has always been an important goal for the sale associates in Crye-Leike, REALTORS Mt. Juliet office.

"We feel this is a very worthy cause for our community," said Blood Drive Coordinator and Crye-Leike Realtor Betty Robinson. "It's been my pleasure to organize the blood drives for our office the past few years. With the help of our entire office and the public who come out to donate, the blood drives we have are always a huge success."
Thanks to Crye-Leike's Mt. Juliet Realtors and the public who stopped by the office in March to donate at their last drive, 31 units of blood were collected to benefit the American Red Cross.
"Our blood drives are a joint effort and always well worth the time and energy we put into it!" said Robinson. "We hope to see many people come out to our upcoming blood drive in November and have a strong support from the public like we did at our last event."

Local Realtors Host Annual Chili Cook-Off To Benefit United Way
SMYRNA, TN., - During their annual United Way Campaign, local Realtors see the importance of continuing to give back to the community despite a difficult year in real estate.
Realtors in Crye-Leike's Smyrna office will carry on their tradition of hosting a chili cook-off luncheon to benefit United Way of Rutherford County. This will be their sixth year to organize the event.
"When we get together for an event like this it allows us to contribute and give something back to the community," said Cindy Speer, Crye-Leike Smyrna Agent. "This has been a challenging year for real estate but we want everyone to know we are still here and working hard for our clients and the community."
Agents from the office will be dusting off their cook-books and preparing their best chili recipes in hopes of winning the honor as ?Best Chili Cook'.
"We invite the public to come enjoy a $5 chili lunch with us and join our efforts in supporting United Way," said Cindy. "Everyone's budget is stretched right now so every little bit will help us help local charities supported by United Way."
Having a successful fundraiser and seeing the impact it has on helping those in need isn't a new concept for Crye-Leike Smyrna Realtors. Last year's cook-off raised $1,773 for the Rutherford County Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. The inspiration for the event was young Tate Lenfant, the son of Crye-Leike Smyrna Sales Associate Tracey Lenfant, who suffers with Cystic Fibrosis.

New Year Resolutions Don?t Have To Wait Until 2010
CANTON, GA., - Just about everyone talks about exercising more and losing a few pounds these days. Putting those words into action and ?actual results' is sometimes the most difficult hurdle to get over.
In an effort to turn the talk into reality - a local Realtor is gearing-up to start a 90-day weight loss contest. It's open to other Realtors and anyone in and around Canton who is interested in losing a few pounds and living a healthier life right now.
"By the start of the new year we hope to see some amazing results and transformations," said Bobby Murphy, a Realtor with Crye-Leike, REALTORS in Canton. "I love helping people and I've discovered that I personally simply will not make the time for myself to lose weight and get healthy - so this is a win-win for me and everyone who joins in."
Murphy has invited everyone in the Crye-Leike Canton office to participate and extends the same invitation to anyone in the community who would like to ?jump-start' their New Year resolution to lose weight. He's even worked out a number of great incentives so no one can make excuses.
Golds Gym is offering every contestant a 90 day full access membership for just $1, a day with no contract, or $18.95 a month for a one-year commitment and a discounted rate to work with a personal trainer.
"Everyone will need to keep a food journal and work-out log to help me hold them accountable," said Murphy. "We are also going to charge $1 for every pound someone gains during our regular weekly ?weigh-in' and skipping ?weigh-in' will cost you $5. At the end of the contest all the money collected will go to the person who realizes the biggest weight loss percentage."
So far nearly 20 people have committed to taking up the weight loss challenge. It's an opportunity to lose weight and possibly win hundreds of dollars in prize money collected from a $40 one-time registration fee and penalty dollars paid for gaining weight or skipping a regular weekly weigh-in.
"We're going to hold people accountable to the goals they set at the weigh-in - because that's truly what we all need - an accountability partner," said Murphy. "In addition to all the incentives we've put together I'm also trying to find a licensed Nutritionist who can teach us some classes on eating better during the contest."
Participants can enter the contest as individuals and as teams of no more than two people. Businesses and community groups are encouraged to create teams and join in.
Murphy's weight loss contest is open to anyone - adults and even children too.
"Our ultimate goal is to motivate, inspire and encourage everyone to never give-up on their dreams and goals," said Murphy. "The long-term benefits are huge and sometimes we all just need a little push and encouragement to get started. Let us be that little push for you to change the way you live."
More About Race To Reduce Your Waist Contest
There is a ?One Time' $40 Registration Fee required per person and the total amount collected - plus any monies received during each weekly weigh-in, will be paid to the contestant who has the greatest weight-loss percentage during the 90 day contest time-frame.
The Sign-Up and Kick-Off event will be held Saturday, October 17, 2009 from 10:00am to 4:00pm at the Crye-Leike Canton sales office located at 1351 Riverstone Parkway, Suite 100 in Canton. A ceremony honoring everyone who participates and the final weigh-in to declare a winner will be held on Saturday, January 9, 2010 at Crye-Leike Canton.

Local Realtors Raise $1,525 for United Way
Realtors in Crye-Leike's Dickson office put everything up for sale but their goal was not to sell homes.
The sales associates hosted two yards sales at the office to raise money for United Way. Each year the office of Realtors organize a yard sale as their way of participating in Crye-Leike's annual United Way Campaign held in September.
"For the past several years we've held a big yard sale in September, but due to an excess of donations from last year we decided to have two sales this year," said Cindy Smith, Crye-Leike Dickson Affiliate Broker and Office Captain for United Way. "Our sale in July brought in $500 and the sale we had in September brought in $1,025."
The grand total for both yard sales was $1,525. All the funds raised will go to assist local charities supported by United Way.
"While our local agencies are many, most of our donations go to the Dickson County Help Center, the Dickson Senior Citizen Center and the Meals on Wheels Program," said Beth Ahlheit, Crye-Leike Dickson Affiliate Broker and Office Co- Captain for United Way. "We extend a special thanks to people in the community who donated or bought items helping make the yard sales a huge success!"

Auctioning Of Desserts Instead Of Homes Raises $3,845 For Mt. Juliet Charities
An auction was recently held at Crye-Leike, REALTORS Mt. Juliet sales office but the Agents were not selling property.
Instead of making competitive offers on a home, bidders were hoping to place the winning bid on one of the many delicious desserts up for auction.
Crye-Leike Agents in Mt. Juliet put business on hold Tuesday morning September 22, 2009 to host the office's Sixth Annual Martin Cummings Sweet Tooth Auction. Agents host the auction every September during the company's United Way Campaign to raise money for local charities supported by United Way of Wilson County.
This year's Sweet Tooth Auction brought in $3,845 to benefit the Mt Juliet Help Center and the Mt. Juliet Senior Center. A hearty breakfast was served for everyone who attended to enjoy followed by the auctioning of many homemade cakes, cookies, pies and other sweet treats.
"Thanks to all the support from Kathy Tomlinson from Realty Title for the wonderful breakfast and thanks to the donations of auction items from local businesses, the public, agents from Crye-Leike offices and other Real Estate companies, and our auctioneers, the auction this year was a huge success!" said Crye-Leike Affiliate Broker Joann Pucciarelli.
I know Martin would be very proud of the way the auction turned out and thrilled on how successful it is every year."
New Scenes and Bigger Surprises at Haunted Woods in North Columbia, Tennessee
COLUMBIA, TN., - Word of mouth in the haunted house business can either make you or break you. If the scares and thrills the year before were impressive - your loyal customers will be coming back for more.
Local Realtor David Miller is counting on the buzz and that word of mouth from his first season in 2008 to attract even more folks to his Haunted Woods in south Spring Hill - set to open for its 2nd season on Friday October 9th.
"Last year we had over 2,400 customers come out and we got lots of great feedback," said Miller. "We gave locals a reason not to drive to Nashville for a good spook and now people are talking about driving here from Nashville and other areas because they've heard about our unique experience."
Miller says he's ready for the business and has invested time and money to become far more experienced and knowledgeable about how to scare people out of their wits.
"In March a group of us attended an International Haunt Convention in St. Louis where we took classes, spent time with vendors and got to visit with other haunted house owners," said Miller. "People were excited to share the latest tricks and what works for them and we'll be showing-off what we learned. We can't wait until opening night."
Miller declines to hint at what new and exciting surprises he has in store - but he says the new scenes they have planned will be unlike anything offered at other Middle Tennessee haunted houses.
"During our ten-night run we will create an atmosphere that's both frightening and fun with concessions, a warm fire burning beside the line and high energy music to get everyone in the mood," said Miller. "We're mindful that most people want a scare while also ensuring the safety of everyone - especially young children,"
With that in mind, October 10th & 17th from 6pm - 7pm has been dedicated as "Kids Night" when the haunt will be less scary and better lit for young children. The actors will also be encouraged to pull off their masks and put down their props as needed if the experience gets too intense for little ones.
"During Kids Night, parents will get in for half price for each paying child," said Miller. "We had a lot of kids last year and many weren't prepared for the full-intense dark haunt experience just yet so they greatly appreciated the Kids Night."
In addition to a kids time, David is offering discounts to church groups and parties of ten or more on October 18th and 25th from 7-10pm. During these times, the haunt will also remain open to the general public.
"Miller's Thrillers Haunted Woods is geared up for another Halloween season of scares," said Miller. "Words can not describe what you're in store for - you just have to come out and be ready to be terrified."
More About Millers Thrillers Haunted Woods
Millers Thrillers Haunted Woods is located off Highway 2499 Greens Mill Road in north Columbia. The experience includes an unguided tour through woods and swampland, a maze of trails and this year - a Giant Plastic Maze that leads patrons to the final experience at the Barn of Terror.
The 2009 schedule is: October 9,10, 16,17,18, 23,24,25, 30 & 31 from 7-11pm. Admission is $10 and the entire experience can last anywhere between 30 and 50 minutes depending on how well patrons navigate through the various mazes and scenes. MAUMELLE, AR., - The players of golf love their sport for many reasons. At times it's all about skill and intense focus and at other moments it's the enjoyment of spending time with friends and colleagues that makes the game so much fun.
The love of the sport will bring dozens of players together soon in Maumelle for more than just a game. While the mission will be to sink putts of course - on the course for one day it will be about generating a sizable donation to fund the research into finding a cure for juvenile diabetes.
"The statistics are staggering," said David Goldstein, a Broker with Crye-Leike, REALTORS. "24 million people have diabetes and someone is diagnosed every 30 seconds. Statistically diabetes is the single most costly chronic disease in the US."
The numbers are what motivate Goldstein along with agent Tammie Del Donno who together are co-chairs of the annual fundraiser. They're very excited to be presenting the company's upcoming 4th annual Crye-Leike Charity Classic at the Country Club of Arkansas in Maumelle to benefit the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF).
"Of course we all love the game of golf - and that's what makes this kind of fundraising such a joy for us," said Goldstein. "When you do something you love and enjoy and at the same time are able to help others - it doesn't get more perfect than that. We also want to find a cure and giving back to the community who supports us - is what it's all about. "
Since you're dealing with serious golfers who want to play to win, the Charity Classic takes on that motto too - aiming to raise serious dollars for the JDRF. The foundation's mission is to find a cure for diabetes and its complications through the support of research.
"We have sponsorship levels that start at $200 dollars which would allow a company or individual to have a sign at a single hole," said Del Donno. "Where a company or individual can have a huge impact on our level of fundraising is to come onboard at a donation level of 25-hundred to five thousand dollars."
The Crye-Leike Charity Classic is all about teamwork too. Everyone who participates will play in teams of four and when everyone is done playing there will be awards and recognition for the top teams and individual players.
"It's no secret that it's been a tough year for people - who are cutting back on all kinds of spending and giving," said Goldstein. "We have been fortunate to see a terrific level of support from sponsors and players. And we'd love to hear from anyone who would like to join in the fun and fundraising."

Fundraising The Old Fashioned Way Nets United Way More Than $600
BRYANT, AR., During the annual ?Month of September' United Way campaign season - special events and activities are often seen as the trademark approach to generating the most donations. That may be true in many cases - but not all.
"I did not have an event, I just talked to people around the office and set a goal of $55 as the minimum donation per person," said Jeremiah Oltmans, a Realtor with Crye-Leike Bryant. "I did my own research about United Way and took the initiative on my own to ask for support and at the end of the day it resulted in $672 raised."
While somewhat unconventional - agent Jeremiah Oltmans' approach apparently connected with his fellow Realtors.
"All I know is that I like to give back to my community and that is why I accepted the invitation to head up the annual United Way fundraiser," said Jeremiah. "I really believe in giving back to the community - since it has given so much to me I think it's the least I can do."
Perhaps recent history is an indicator that what Jeremiah touches - turns to gold. In 2006, his first year in real estate sales, he was presented by the Benton/Bryant Realtors Association as a statewide nominee for ?Rookie of the Year.' And in the local Realtor group he has chaired the ?Awards of Excellence' program and serves on the Special Olympics and Public Relations committees.
"Knowing that I might make a difference in someone's life or way of life is a huge feeling of gratification," said Jeremiah. "I like giving to the United Way in particular because they stand for great causes and I know the money is going to be used within my community. I plan on making a difference within my community and working my way out to a broader area."

The fun kicks-off at 4:30pm at the Mid Point Plaza located at 2440 Fairview Blvd., across from Jingo Market.
"I'm not quite ready to say so-long to the summer of 2009 and my friends in the music business aren't either," said Teresa Lampley, Crye-Leike REALTORS agent. "I love what I do in real estate and I meet so many different people I was just inspired to put together a great late afternoon and evening of fun to celebrate the two things I enjoy the most - music and people."
The musical lineup includes: 4:30 - 5:30 We Are The Walrus - a Beatles tribute band, 6:00 - 9:00 Terry "Harmonica" Bean - a popular Delta blues man who has played clubs and festivals across the south, 9:30 - 11:00 or later - Cold Stone Soup - a local Fairview band that plays a mix of Americana Blues and Country. Representatives from Helping Hands will be at the event with information about their ministry and how they support individuals, families and children.

Crye-Leike, REALTORS Vinings Agents Go Back To School Shopping To Donate Backpacks And Supplies To The Atlanta Union Mission For Women And Children
VININGS, GA., - Crye-Leike, REALTORS sales associates joined in the 2009 back to school shopping season - purchasing new backpacks and school supplies for the children in the care of the Atlanta Union Mission For Women And Children. The agents met their goal of providing a total of 20 book-bags stuffed with a variety of supplies.
"It is very important for me to give back to the community where I live, work and play," said Brenda Allred, Crye-Leike Vinings Managing Broker. "Adopting the Atlanta Union Mission for Women and Children has given us that opportunity."
More than 30 Realtors contributed to the donation of back to school essentials from the Crye-leike Vinings, Georgia branch office located at 4691 S. Atlanta Road Suite 100 in Smyrna, Georgia.
"We placed a school supply collection cabinet in our main lobby and asked our Realtors to do what they could to fill it," said Brenda. "It warms my heart to see the outpouring of donations and I know it is making a huge difference in the lives of the children at the Atlanta Union Mission who are starting school with new school supplies like every other child."
The Atlanta Union Mission was established in 1938 as a refuge for hungry individuals displaced by the Great Depression. Over the years, the Mission has grown from a single shelter in downtown Atlanta to six facilities, which provide emergency food and shelter, residential recovery programs and transitional housing to as many as 1,144 homeless and addicted men and women, and their children.
For the associates at Crye-Leike Vinings this was not the first time they reached out to lend a hand to the women and children at the mission. During the past holiday season agents provided several families staying at the shelter with gifts of food and toys.
As she has been doing with her real estate clients for more than two decades, Brenda says the personal approach she takes in her business is the same approach she takes when it comes to her community service.
"We're thrilled to be able to support the Atlanta Union Mission so they can continue to help save lives and ease the day to day struggle that so many families find themselves in," said Brenda. "My goal as a Realtor and a concerned member of the community is to help rebuild lives and help to create strong families and even stronger communities."
Crye-Leike Vinings agents assist buyers and sellers in and around Cobb, Fulton and Dekalb counties. They specialize in all types of residential and commercial real estate sales.

Crye-Leike, REALTORS Agents Help Prepare Hundreds Of Middle Tennessee Children For A New School Year With Backpacks And School Supplies
BRENTWOOD, TN., - Crye-Leike, REALTORS agents are joining in the back to school shopping season - purchasing new backpacks and school supplies for the children in the care of Youth Villages.
It's the 9th consecutive year Crye-Leike has joined in the agency's Backpack Heroes campaign - to help see to it that these emotionally and behaviorally challenged children enjoy the same start to school as every other child. Everything that is collected will go to help local children in the Middle Tennessee area.
"Over 90% of these children live well below the poverty line and most cannot afford a backpack or school supplies for the upcoming school year," said Harold Crye, Crye-Leike, REALTORS Cofounder and CEO. "This year Crye-Leike is again partnering with Youth Villages by collecting donations which will help provide these items to hundreds of children who have very little or nothing at all."
Please join us for the pick-up of what we hope will be a record breaking delivery of backpacks and school supplies to the children of Youth Villages August 5, 2009 @ 2:00pm at the Crye-Leike Brentwood West Regional Headquarters located at 5111 Maryland Way, Brentwood, Tennessee.
"Because of what Crye-Leike associates do, these kids get to attend school with new folders, paper, pencils and backpacks like every other kid," said Greg Schott, Youth Villages Development Manager. "It gives them the opportunity to having something brand new and not be made fun of by others and allows the counselors who work with them to show them that they can trust grown ups and that they are willing to help kids that they don't even know."
From late July until early August Crye-Leike Associates and Employees across the Middle Tennessee region are going "school supply shopping." The goal this year is for every Crye-Leike, REALTORS office in the Middle Tennessee region to fill 20 backpacks for girls and boys from elementary to high school age.
