MILLINGTON, TN., - Crye-Leike, Realtors congratulates Affiliate Broker Cassie McKenzie who has stepped-up to volunteer as the Event Chair for the Relay For Life event to benefit the American Cancer Society in Millington Tennessee.
This is the second year McKenzie has volunteered time to support the event. In 2007 she was the co-captain of an office team dubbed "Crye-Leike Camping for a Cure" and helped to raise more than $1,500.00.
"My dad has always told me I can do whatever I want to do, and this is more of a "have to" situation," said McKenzie. McKenzie is a licensed real estate associate in Tennessee working with buyers and sellers in and around the Millington area. CRYE-LEIKE, REALTORS FAIRVIEW TENNESSEE BRANCH OFFICE
FAIRVIEW, TN., - Crye-Leike Realtors congratulates the associates and staff at the company's Fairview Tennessee branch office on their official State of Tennessee sanctioned adoption of the first mile of Highway 100 on the east side of Fairview.
The stretch of adopted highway is near by Crye-Leike, Realtors Fairview branch office, located at 2239 Fairview Blvd., Suite 100.
"Adopting a section of state highway gives us the responsibility of collecting trash along the roadway," said Sheree Rudd, Managing Broker for Crye-Leike, Realtors Fairview office. "In return, the State of Tennessee provides us with a marker to recognize us for our gesture and efforts to keep Fairview beautiful."
Rudd says the process to formalize the highway adoption was fairly easy.
"All we had to do was contact the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) office in Nashville and see what portions of the highway through Fairview were essentially orphaned," said Rudd. "We thought the first mile as you come into Fairview from Nashville and Franklin was the best stretch for us to take care of."
As hard working Realtors, Rudd says it's important in our profession to always make a good first impression. She believes, by adopting a portion of the most heavily traveled roadway through the community, it's a great way to extend a positive impression to the residents of the community and anyone who's just driving through.
"According to TDOT, there are still a few good area along the highway in Fairview still up for adoption," said Rudd. It would be great is we had business partners along the entire stretch, ensuring the roadway remains free of unsightly litter."

CRYE-LEIKE, REALTORS ASSOCIATES IN GREEN HILLS HELP HOMELESS MEN AND WOMEN RECONNECT WITH THEIR FAMILIES THROUGH THE ?MORE THAN A TOY? (MTAT) PROJECT
GREEN HILLS, TN., - Crye-Leike, Realtors associates and employees at the company's Green Hills branch office are supporting a holiday season "gifting" project designed to help young homeless men and women make a reconnection with their families.
"More Than A Toy is project to help young homeless men and women send gifts to family members who they've lost touch with," said Mary Poor, an Affiliate Broker with Crye-Leike, Realtors in Green Hills. "We're thrilled to be able to support them in an effort to re-establish a relationship with their loved ones."
MTAT is a holiday program sponsored by Room in the Inn, which recognizes homeless individuals who wish to reconnect with their loved ones. MTAT also recognizes that gifts are symbolic and include peace offerings and gestures of reconciliation as well as apologies or tokens of love.
According to Poor, the homeless people they're assisting are young adults over 18 years old and into their early 20's. She says this age group is too old for foster homes and often ends up homeless or on the street.
MTAT gives homeless people who wish to participate the opportunity to earn points/vouchers through community service work. They can also earn points/vouchers while attending classes (drug, alcohol or education) that will assist them in getting back on their feet.
"With these vouchers, which represent a commitment on their part to overcome their situations, they're able to shop for a gift for someone in their family with whom they have lost contact," said Poor. "The idea that our modest contribution might actually reconnect someone with their family for the holiday is absolutely remarkable."
These people have missed family birthdays, anniversaries and holidays. Those who want to reconnect with loved ones are unable to afford a simple gift or peace offering.
All items donated are given a discounted value in the form of points/vouchers, which are then brought to a location, where they are displayed for purchase.

BRENTWOOD, TN.- Crye-Leike, Realtors associates from branch offices in Gallatin and Hendersonville join forces to assist Habitat for Humanity of Sumner County in building a new home.
"We were thrilled to have the support of fellow associates on this build," said John Prentiss, a Crye-Leike, Realtors Affiliate Broker and Treasurer of the Habitat for Humanity of Sumner County. "It's great when the professionals who help people buy and sell homes roll up their sleeves to actually help build a home too."
Groundbreaking for the home was held on June 20, 2007. The residence, a 12-hundred square foot, four bedroom, two bathroom home was completed in just two and a half months.
The Board of Directors of Habitat for Humanity of Sumner County was joined by Crye-Leike, Realtors Gallatin branch associates John Reed, Michelle Simmons and her husband, Wendy Bahmed and her son, Marilyn Whiteand, Jaemy Chaney and her brother. And from the Hendersonville office, Dianne Payne from Crye-Leike, Realtors owned Magna Bank.
The Crye-Leike, Associates and their relatives worked alongside numerous volunteers from Gallatin First United Methodist Church, and others, to literally make a comfortable residence appear almost overnight.
"It's fair to say, building a habitat home is addictive," said Prentiss. "The first time you see the tears streaming down the face of a new homeowner or the smile of a youngster who has never had a real room of his own, all the hard work and sweat seems like all too small a sacrifice."
Dedication Day was held August 19, 2007. Her 6 grandchildren, friends and volunteers joined new homeowner Renee Garrett as she received the keys to their new home.
Habitat for Humanity of Sumner County is in the early stages of another build in 2007. If you would like to become involved with this worthwhile endeavor, please contact John Prentiss at 477-1478 or email jprentiss@aol.com.

OLIVE BRANCH CRYE-LEIKE, REALTORS OFFICE TO HOLD DRIVE TO BENEFIT LIFEBLOOD
OLIVE BRANCH, MS.- A free pint of ice cream will go to every donor at the blood drive to benefit Lifeblood on Tuesday August 21st from 1 - 4pm at the Crye-Leike, Realtors office located at 6397 Goodman Road in Olive Branch.
Bruster's Ice Cream is donating the cool treats. And to go along with the yummy dessert "The Party Game" store is joining in with a special coupon for everyone who donates a pint.
"What better way to reward donors for their good deed than with a pint of ice cream," said Tracy Kirkley, Crye-Leike, Realtors Olive Branch Managing Broker. "It's a great treat thanks to the folks from Bruster's for such a great cause, that could help to save a life."
Since 1974 Lifeblood has been the Memphis community's only full-service blood center and is the area's leading provider of blood and blood components to area hospital.
During the summer months, the need for blood in local hospitals increases due to travel related injuries, outdoor accidents and scheduled surgeries. At the same time, donations often decrease because regular donors are busy with travel and vacation plans.

Insulin, however, is not a cure for diabetes, nor does it prevent its eventual and devastating complications that may include kidney failure, blindness, heart disease, stroke, and amputation.
Since its founding in 1970 by parents of children with type 1 diabetes, JDRF has awarded more than $900 million to diabetes research, including more than $98 million in FY2005. In FY2005, the Foundation funded 500 centers, grants and fellowships in 19 countries.

Memphis, Tenn. - Crye-Leike, Realtors has named Dusty Kidd as its first recipient of the company's Good Neighbor Award, an award established to recognize a Crye-Leike employee's commitment to community service.
Kidd is Crye-Leike's sign department manager, a position he has held for the past five years.
Chief Executive Officer Harold Crye and President Dick Leike presented the award to Kidd at Crye-Leike's annual employee luncheon. Kidd, a resident of Munford, was recognized for the exceptional contributions he has made to his community through volunteer work.
One of Kidd's most noteworthy community efforts is his involvement with the St. Jude Bass Classic, an annual bass fishing tournament that benefits St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Each May, fishing enthusiasts gather at Sardis Lake in Mississippi to compete in five categories for cash and prizes.
Kidd has helped with various tasks over the years in organizing this event. He starts months in advance by promoting the tournament and selling raffle tickets. Also honored was East Memphis resident Susan Bachman, a Hilton Hotels executive and a mentor to a Youth Villages child through the Chris Crye Mentoring Program.
Harold Crye and Dick Leike, co-owners of Crye-Leike, REALTORS?, accepted the award on behalf of their company and staff. Sales associates and staff at Crye-Leike, REALTORS? have helped organize, sponsor and volunteer at the Youth Villages' 5K Run for the past 23 years, helping raise more than $1 million for Youth Villages. More than 850 Crye-Leike sales associates and staff participated in the recent Youth Villages' 5K Run/Walk held at Ridgeway Center in East Memphis.
Crye-Leike, REALTORS? also supports the children of Youth Villages through their annual Campaign for Children, a holiday card sale begun 1986, which has raised more than $300,000 for Youth Villages. More than 1,300 Crye-Leike Realtors participated in the campaign last year. Campaign funds support the Chris Crye Mentoring Program, a program established by Crye-Leike REALTORS? to provide mentors to Youth Villages children. The program is named in memory of Harold Crye's son, Chris, a passionate Youth Villages mentor, who died in a tragic accident.
Susan Bachman was honored for mentoring Youth Villages children through the Chris Crye Mentoring Program. Bachman has mentored five Youth Villages children. Most recently, she has been a mentor to Becky, a young college student who is participating in the Youth Villages Transitional Living program, initiated and funded by The Day Foundation, also located in East Memphis.
"People generally don't have an idea just how great a difference a mentor makes in the life of a child. But mentors are crucial in a child's success in life, especially when a child does not have a family," says Kevin Dean, mentor coordinator, Youth Villages. "Counselors tell me all the time how these children go from no hope because they have no family or friends to finding reasons to smile and work on their treatment at Youth Villages because they have a mentor. Many of our kids have never before had a person who was there just for them."

Crye-Leike Collects School Supplies for Children at Youth Villages
Nashville, Tenn. - It was a great first day at school for over 300 children served by Youth Villages of Middle Tennessee. They were the recipients of new backpacks filled with school supplies, collected and donated by the sales associates and employees of Crye-Leike, Realtors in Middle Tennessee.
"Most of the children and adolescents in our care have had to move from place to place and have very little to call their own," said Patti Bryan, development director of Youth Villages in Middle Tennessee. "Backpacks for students now have become essential items which most children take for granted. In many ways, having new backpacks of their own on that all-important first day of school is a big boost for our Youth Villages' children."

To date, Crye-Leike has raised in excess of $400,000 for Youth Villages.
