Crye-Leike Expands Outside Continental United States
Memphis, Tenn. (July 7, 2017) - Crye-Leike Real Estate Services, the nation's fifth-largest independent residential real estate firm, is expanding outside of the continental United States for the first time in its 40-year history, with a new franchised office in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
Santiago Coll-Camalez, a veteran independent real estate broker in San Juan, is now the owner and managing broker of the new Crye?Leike franchise in San Juan, the capital of and largest city in Puerto Rico, an island commonwealth that is a territory of the United States. About 1 million people live in the San Juan area.
Coll-Camalez has been a real estate broker there since 2004, operating as an independent, said Keith Sullivan, president of Crye?Leike Franchises and chief marketing officer for Crye-Leike.
Most of the major real estate brands familiar to Americans on the continental U.S. are active in Puerto Rico; however, the market also has many small independent real estate firms. Coll-Camalez's small formerly independent brokerage has three full-time and one part-time agent, with plans to grow to about 14 agents, Sullivan said.
Sullivan said the company would like to have more franchised stores in Puerto Rico. "We've had some discussions with others in Puerto Rico for additional offices. Nothing has transpired yet but we'd like to expand our presence there," he said.
"One of the main reasons to affiliate with Crye-Leike is to better compete in the local market, particularly incoming/outbound referral opportunities through our network of agents as well as through our international relocation network, Leading Real Estate Companies of the World," he said, explaining why becoming a Crye-Leike franchisee may be attractive to more independent brokers in Puerto Rico. "In addition, he (Coll-Camalez) now has access to more marketing/technology platforms which should help him grow his business."
Sullivan says the real estate transaction in Puerto Rico is conducted in a similar fashion. Additionally, tax incentives (Act 20 and 22) were created to lure wealthy investors to the island. One difference: Spanish, not English, is the most commonly used language spoken in Puerto Rico. English is also widely spoken. Coll-Camalez' Crye?Leike franchise is "fully bilingual," Sullivan said.
In 2012, Puerto Rico passed new tax laws, known as Act 20 and Act 22, that make the island territory a tax haven for U.S. citizens who become residents of Puerto Rico. The laws shield new residents residing in Puerto Rico for at least half of the year from paying most federal income taxes.
An alumnus of John Carroll University, Coll-Camalez received his insurance license in 1982 and his real estate license in 2004. His real estate expertise includes helping buyers and sellers, property management, investment properties, and foreclosures for single-family homes, and excess and surplus property. He also has expertise in condominium insurance sales, commercial insurance, and personal insurance. His real estate specialties include commercial, residential, management, BPO's and inspections.
"I decided to join Crye-Leike because of its performance and good will in the Mid-South," Coll-Camalez said. "With Crye-Leike, I am in a better position to serve my existing residential clientele, asset managers, and expand in commercial real estate, business brokerage and the Act 20/22 market, luxury market , as well as the referrals, due to emigration tendencies."
The Crye?Leike San Juan Real Estate office (http://sanjuan.crye-leike.com) is located at 268 Ponce de Leon, Suite 1014, San Juan, PR 00918. Managing Broker Santiago Coll-Camalez can be contacted at 7870772-4978 or santiago.coll.camalez@crye-leike.com.

Mrs. Andrews has been helping people with their real estate needs since 2002. She previously owned Anchor Realty & Property Management in Destin, Fla.

Originally from Atlanta, Ga., the family relocated to Ft. Walton Beach individually over the past five years.
"Even though we are not natives of Fort Walton Beach, our family has been visiting the area since 1987," said Mr. Glime. "We always said that we would one day make this are our final destination and here we are establishing a family business together."
Having previously owned a small independent real estate office, Mrs. Andrews decided to explore affiliating with a real estate franchise to take the business to the next level.
"We interviewed four different real estate franchises, and it was clear that the Crye-Leike franchise system was superior," said Mrs. Andrews. "Its technology platform and training programs were unsurpassed, giving us opportunities to offer our clients the best possible options."
"By being a part of the Crye-Leike team, our office is now on the cutting edge of technology," said Mrs. Andrews. Crye-Leike offers our agents more tools and opportunities to better their real estate businesses, which in turn allows our agents to offer their customers more innovative ways to buy and sell their properties."

The merger opens additional market regions in Tennessee for Crye-Leike in Anderson and Roane counties.
Owner and Principal Broker Linda L. Brown felt that it was a good business decision to make the move. With Crye-Leike being a full service real estate firm, our office is now able to offer more real estate services for our clients and agents, giving us greater opportunities to expand and grow our business, she said.
Crye-Leike will continue to operate in Linda Brown Realtys current location at 1666 Oak Ridge Turnpike in Oak Ridge, Tenn. The one story, 4,000 sq. ft. office building where the real estate firm is located was built by Linda Brown's husband, Walter, and was also purchased in the acquisition.
Very little is changing except the name and signage, remarked Mrs. Brown I will remain the managing broker as well as list and sell real estate just as I have been doing, and my agents will remain. We all look forward to the technology upgrades and the continuing education that Crye-Leike offers, just to name a few of the service upgrades planned, all to help us agents stay up-to-date with the rapidly changing business world.
I believe this is a win-win for both companies, said Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer Harold Crye of Crye-Leike. Oak Ridge and its surrounding areas are showing signs of steady growth with various companies expanding and moving there. We plan to build upon the foundation that Linda and her team of sales associates has successfully built for over three decades. We are very happy to be expanding our Crye-Leike brand there.
This Oak Ridge office joins other Crye-Leike company-owned offices in Athens, Johnson City, Knoxville ??" North, Knoxville ??" West, Loudon ??" Tellico Village, Pigeon Forge ??" Sevierville, along with its franchise offices in Crossville, Greeneville, Maryville, Morristown and Rogersville.

Those states are Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, Missouri, Oklahoma and Tennessee.
And giving back to those communities which have supported Crye-Leike's sales associates and where the company has a market presence is a benchmark for Crye-Leike that also appealed to Mrs. Brown. Crye-Leike Officially Establishes Regional Headquarters in East Tenn. after 4.5 years
March 29, 2016) - Tennessee-based Crye-Leike, the nation's fourth largest privately-held residential real estate brokerage firm and largest in Tennessee and the Mid-South, has officially established an East Tennessee regional headquarters in Knoxville after first entering the market in February 2011.
"With having a market presence in this region for 4.5 years now, our purchase of a headquarters building should prove to Knoxville that Crye-Leike is here to stay," said Chief Executive Officer Harold E. Crye who intends to continue to grow Crye-Leike by adding two to three more branch offices in Farragut and Oak Ridge.
Its headquarters office is now located at 9539 Kingston Pike in the Franklin Square area. It will serve as its Knoxville West branch office as well as house administrative offices for the region, including commercial, property management and relocation services.
Crye-Leike's East Tennessee Region has seven other branch offices with 140+ sales associates in Athens, Cookeville, Johnson City, Loudon (Tellico Village), Pigeon Forge/Sevierville, Powell (North Knoxville) and West Knoxville, along with five franchise offices in Crossville, Greeneville, Maryville Morristown and Rogersville.
This headquarters building, previously a law office, was purchased by Crye in January 2016 for $1.05 million. The one-story building and parking lot were completely renovated to meet building codes. With over 6,000 sq. ft., the building now offers triple the amount of office space it once had at its first Knoxville branch office, leased office space at 731 Campbell Station Road in Farragut which is now closed.
"Crye-Leike typically does not lease office space," said General Manager Melonie Carideo. "It just took us a few years to find the right location for our regional headquarters. This newly-renovated building gives our current 40-agent base room to grow to as many sales associates as we need, along with a welcoming lobby and two conference rooms."
The newly-decorated Crye-Leike building is being shared by its affiliate company, Realty Title, offering its sales associates and customers convenient title and closing services.
Carideo noted that Crye-Leike's real estate offices are not being designed like they used to. "Ten years ago, you would see our real estate offices having a desk or private office for every agent affiliated in that branch office," she said. "Today, many Crye-Leike agents work remotely from home. So, Crye-Leike doesnt need the massive office square footage it used to have."
Crye-Leike's East Tennessee Region produced a year-end sales volume of $206.65 million in 2015, up 29.34 percent from $159.77 million through 2014, representing 1,207 in year-end closings.
Crye-Leike's East Tennessee Region serves the real estate needs of buyers and sellers in Anderson, Blount, Campbell, Carter, Claiborne, Cocke, Cumberland, Fentress, Grainger, Greene, Hamblen, Hancock, Hawkins, Jefferson, Johnson, Knox, Loudon, McMinn, Morgan, Overton, Roane, Scott, Sevier, Sullivan, Unicoi, Union and Washington counties.
Crye-Leike (Crye-Leike.com), a full service real estate company for 39 years, is ranked the nation's sixth largest residential real estate brokerage firm among the nation's top 500 and is the largest real estate company in Tennessee, Arkansas, Mississippi and the Mid-South. Headquartered in Memphis, Tenn., Crye-Leike has a network of over 3,000 sales associates and 115 branch and franchise offices located in a nine-state region.

Region), Jackson (Miss. Region), Little Rock (Central, East & NW Arkansas Regions), Memphis (West Tenn. Region) and Nashville (Middle Tenn. Region). Two Historic Real Estate Firms Plan Merge In Memphis
Memphis, Tenn., - Great real estate leaders have one thing in common - they know when it's the right time to make a move to better serve their business and their clients. That's the idea French & Company founder Nick French recently had when he decided to join forces with Crye-Leike, REALTORS, Inc.
Two historic real estate firms will merge in Memphis on May 16, 2011 as French & Company, Realtors, will be joined into Crye-Leike, REALTORS of East Memphis.
Gail and Nick French founded French & Company in 1977 - the same year Crye-Leike opened its first office and was founded in Memphis. The French & Company's East Memphis firm is known for representing buyers and sellers of fine properties from Downtown to East Memphis. The French team will operate The French Connection at Crye-Leike and Nick French will join Crye-Leike as a Vice President.
They are both Life Members of the Multi-Million Dollar Club of the Memphis Area Association of Realtors. Their unique marketing has been recognized nationally with several awards from the Council of Residential Specialists of the National Association of REALTORS. They have been featured on the covers of both the Residential Council magazine and the Brokerage Council magazine. Together they hold nine professional designations.
"The merger is extremely attractive because it enables us to provide Crye-Leike's superior technology, tools, marketing and web presence along with one-stop-service to serve our buyers and sellers," said Nick French. "Enhanced service; that's what it's all about."
Nick French has been Realtor of the Year for both the Memphis and Tennessee Association of Realtors. He served as President of the Tennessee Association in 1997 and the New Mexico Association in 2007. In addition to local and state offices Nick has been on the Executive Committee and the Strategic Planning Committee of the National Association of REALTORS.
While in New Mexico, French was Vice President and Manager of Sotheby's International Realty in Santa Fe.
Gail French has been active in the Women's Council of Realtors serving as President of the Memphis Chapter and the Tennessee Chapter and Governor for WCR of the Provence of Tennessee. She has been recognized as Member of the Year in both Memphis and Tennessee. Nationally, she was Regional Vice-President and served multiple terms on the Executive Committee, Nominating Committee and the Strategic Planning Committee. She has been on the Board of Directors of the Memphis and Tennessee Associations of Realtors.
The company is known for upper end, luxury, niche marketing of houses and condominiums throughout the Memphis area. They were part of the development team for Massey Hill and have sold over sixty homes in the luxury garden condominiums known as The Woodlands at Poplar and Goodlett.
French and Company has been privileged to have professional associates who distinguished themselves as Life Members of the Multi-Million Dollar Club, by earning industry designations, and by being very involved in the community.
"We welcome French and Company and their many loyal clients. They bring national credentials and special skill sets to our East Memphis office. We're excited about their arrival. In the market we're in now, the cream rises to the top. We expect to see more consolidation of firms as we all seek to become more efficient and provide better services to our customers " Steve Brown, Memphis area GM at Crye Leike.
"French & Company and Crye-Leike opened our businesses the same year. We have worked together on various committees throughout the years such as bringing the computerized Multiple Listing System to the Memphis Area Association of Realtors. Crye-Leike Makes A Big Catch On Beaver Lake in Northwest Arkansas
BEAVER LAKE - ROGERS, AR., - Recognized as one of the finest striped bass fisheries in the country, Beaver Lake has been attracting fishing enthusiasts from all over the U.S. for decades. The lure of the Rogers lake resort area has netted another big fish of sorts. Crye-Leike, REALTORS recently purchased a small retail center on Highway 12 East in Rogers as its new Beaver Lake location.
"Moving into our new Beaver Lake Office has been like a breath of fresh air," said Chuck Gay, Crye-Leike's newly named Beaver Lake Managing Broker. "The lake community is very special and even through the recession, demand for lake homes and real estate sales have remained fairly stable."
Chuck Gay and six other associates, all previously affiliated with Harris McHaney Realtors, have come onboard to make up the new Beaver Lake team. They've all been specializing in lake property sales for many years. Chuck considers Crye-Leike's recent expansion and acquisition as a clear indication of a market and region on the upswing.
"We have many out of state buyers looking for second homes around the lake," said Chuck. "The only problem we are experiencing is a shortage of lake homes to sell. This of course creates a great opportunity for sellers, as most of the lake homes do not remain on the market for a long period of time."
Beaver Lake now represents Crye-Leike's 8th company owned sales center in Northwest Arkansas. Cofounder and CEO Harold Crye looks to a bright future for real estate sales in the area based on a strong economic engine he sees primarily fueled by Wal-Mart, Tyson Foods, J.B. Hunt Trucking and the University of Arkansas.
"The real estate market is healthy, sales and new construction are picking up," said Crye. "We've seen phenomenal growth and sales that have exceeded our expectations since opening our first offices in the region just three years ago."
With its recent Beaver Lake addition - Crye predicts the company is on track to finish 2010 as the largest real estate firm in Northwest Arkansas based on both the number of homes sold and gross sales volume.
"Myself and the sales associates joining me are Beaver Lake Specialists," said Chuck. "We've all worked at the lake for many years and have worked together like a family for a long time. We have Harold Crye and his team to thank for keeping our family together and giving us a new home at Beaver Lake."

"Our goal is simple, to make the buying and selling process easier for our agents and their clients," said Rob Hatchett, Crye-leike, REALTORS Regional Vice President. "We have a great group of local agents now and we just want to put our unique marketing tools in their hands to serve the people of Athens and Ardmore."
The former Alabama Realty Group has been a real estate sales leader in its respective communities. The Alabama licensed agents - now joining Crye-Leike - assist buyers and sellers in and around in Limestone, Madison and Morgan counties.

Crye-Leike Forms Title Company from Arkansas Business
By Northwest Arkansas Business Journal Staff
6/30/2008
Crye-Leike Realtors CEO Harold Crye has not kept quiet about his intentions to become Northwest Arkansas's largest residential real estate firm.
And judging by the number of new offices and staff, Crye is well on his way.
But to become No. 1 in the market, Crye-Leike will have to knock off market giant Lindsey & Associates.
Crye-Leike hasn't yet been able to duplicate Lindsey's sales numbers but has encroached on another aspect of Lindsey's real estate business - its title company. Lindsey and Crye-Leike own title agencies that are both, coincidently, named Realty Title.
The distinction between the two names comes after the ampersand. Lindsey's company is Realty Title & Closing Services while Crye-Leike's company goes by Realty Title & Escrow Services.
Crye said he noticed the names when his company opened its Rogers title office, located just down the street from Lindsey's title office on Walnut Drive.
Both names are registered with the state so there is little either company can do, legally. But it looks like this could cause some confusion at the bank.

Crye-Leike Realtors of Memphis is still expanding its Arkansas operations after building the largest market share among residential realty firms in the state.
The company is set to open an office in southwest Little Rock in August and another Springdale location in the fall. Crye-Leike also is about to break ground on a Bella Vista branch expected to open during the first quarter of 2009.
Next year should see the opening of new offices in Bentonville and Siloam Springs on sites the company already has secured.
But wait. There's more.
"We have some other thoughts for locations," said Harold Crye, the firm's namesake chief executive officer.
Did you know that Crye-Leike also bought two northwest Arkansas residential companies while adding its own network of offices?
Those firms would be GlobaLink Realtors of Fayetteville (22 agents) and Jerri Jenkins & Associates of Springdale (12 agents).
Crye-Leike has 641 licensed agents and brokers in Arkansas, who amassed a combined sales and listing volume of $837 million during 2007. That figure is more than twice that of its nearest competitor, Lindsey & Associates of Fayetteville.

REALTY TITLE & ESCROW GRAND OPENING IN SPRING HILL
BRENTWOOD, TN.- Crye-Leike, Realtors is proud to announce the Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for the newest Realty Title & Escrow Office in Spring Hill Tennessee.
"I'm thrilled to be opening our 14th Middle-Tennessee Branch in Spring Hill," said Shawna Hulse, President of Realty Title. So if you're a Lender or Realtor in Spring Hill but your customer works in Nashville, not only can Realty Title handle the closing, we can do it in a convenient, professional office setting."
Hulse explained, "Some title companies, in order to accommodate their clients, will arrange to meet and close in a public place like Shoney's or McDonald's where important legal documents are then explained, signed and notarized. But should something like the interest rate or commission change at the closing table, as can happen, the closing must be rescheduled until the title agent can get back to the office and make the necessary changes to the documents. All Realty Title offices are networked so our closing agents have the ability to make last minute changes to documents and checks even though they're closing at another branch."
